New Sales Using Twitter Locality Search

Twitter is the fastest growing Social Media site with over 400,000 new users being added daily. Twitter is not generally known as a "Search Engine" like Google, Bing or Yahoo, but it is. It is much easier to locate information using Twitter search than on Facebook for instance.

On Facebook we are compelled to peruse and browse through hundreds, and sometimes thousands of profiles till we find the photo of the person we are looking for. If we send out eMails to tens or hundreds of people we don't know, we run the risk of being labeled as spam.

Using Twitter search, we are able to find any millions of keywords easily readily, and in real time. In our basic article, we covered using the ubiquitous word "Tree" to find information, and we recommended using the hash-tag or pound sThe Jeffrey Building in Annapolis was briefly evacuated ign # when doing a search. Actually it is always beneficial to search both ways: with the hashtag and without.

Twitter location search is just as simple as looking for Tweets mentioning trees. In location based search, we want to put in the name of the city and the town. So in Twitter Search, we'll type in: Seattle, WA and we will see all recent tweets mentioning Seattle, WA. Follow those accounts.

Second, Type in: #Seattle, WA this time using the hash-tag in front of the word Seattle. Follow those accounts who have tweeted in the last hour.

Why are we doing both? Veteran users will put the hashtag in front of the city, to make it more identifiable in Twitter Search, and give you a wider range of prospects, than if you only search for Tweeters without the hash-tag.

After following say 300 people this way,The Jeffrey Building in Annapolis was briefly evacuated take a break. I would expect a return of betweenThe Jeffrey Building in Annapolis was briefly evacuated 30 and 50 people following you back. Big corporations, news organizations, institutions, tourist sites, colleges, and celebrities may not follow back. Location based searching is slower than other methods, but a very powerful way to build a local base of potential sales over time.

I start, maintain, and grow many local accounts across the globe for clients using these very techniques, and have many cost savings, and time savings synergies are employed using variations of these very tips.

The Advanced Twitter Search Article to Be Found here on Evan Carmichael will cover how to take this basic technique, combine it with other techniques and take your Twitter Account to the next level.

Re: Using Twitter To Double Your Traffic? Re: Using Twitter To Double Your Traffic? - I'm sure in many cases Twitter sends more traffic than Search Engines because most people don't have good enough SE rankings to get SE traffic. But anyone can get Twitter traffic. The problem is that Twitter traffic won't convert for the most part and SE traffic will. I'd venture to say that 98% of the time getting just 100 visitors from search is better than getting 2000+ from Twitter.

Online Sales and Marketing vs Traditional Online Sales and Marketing vs Traditional - Hi Evan, I am noticing that many of the posts in the Sales/Marketing section deal with online marketing, SEM and and SEO and Affiliates. I was wondering if it might be a good idea to separate that section into two; 1) Online Sales and Marketing; 2) Traditional Sales and Marketing
