Cheap Domain Name Registration

Cheap Domain Name Registration

In recent years, many people have come up to me asking for really cheap domain name registration. They want to get the most for the least. While there are definitely some good bargains and deals out there, my question to them has always been: How much bang do you want for your buck?

Almost 15 years ago, an article in Wired magazine wrote about the many seemingly valuable domain names that were up for grabs. McDonalds.com was one of them. I don’t know how much it eventually sold for, but my point is this: sometimes you have to be willing to spend the money to get the domain name you want, the domain name that will make your website, and your company a success.

Each registrar sets its own prices for registering names and be wary – they can vary significantly between each other. Some companies might offer discounted packages or even free services in connection with other programs and services. For instance, they might give you your domain name for free if you decide to use their company’s hosting services as well. Look into whether or not options like those could save you more money in the end.

The cost of a domain name bought from a company that is trusted and has a reputable history should not be more than $10. Of course, the cost will vary depending on which extension you have chosen and the time period for which you want to reserve the name. I would consider $10 cheap domain name registration. If you’re looking for something cheaper than $4 or $5, chances are you’re going to wind up with a service that does not meet your expectations or your needs. That is a risk you have to be willing to take.

The cost of buying a domain name will also depend on how many names you decide to buy. For instance, you buying up all the same domain names with top level extensions such as .com, .ca or .biz? Are you buying domain names that take into account people’s tendency to make spelling mistakes? The more names you buy, the more expensive it will be. But remember, if you’re planning to be around for the long term, it might just be worth your while.

Trying to find a good deal on the Internet is like trying to find a needle in the haystack. And, many of the pieces of hay are waiting there just to poke you from behind. Do your homework. Look into which companies offer what along with their domain registration. Also, think about how long you’ll be needing the site. Does it make sense to register a URL for ten years, if you’re only putting it up to promote a special one-time event? Remember, you will be charged a nominal fee for each year you have the domain name registered.

Cheap domain name registration is easy to come by, but you could be getting exactly what you pay for. Visit 1 and 1 Internet to get the package that is best for you.
