More than any other social media site, a plethora of programs have sprung up to support Twitter, and they are constantly evolving. 1. TwitterDesigner

The immediate need for a professional Twitter user involves the design of your Twitter home page. 2. TweetDeck

TweetDeck provides a powerful program to let you monitor your major social media from the same interface. You can create columns for your Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts, for example. 4. Your Twitter Karma

It’s always a good idea to have more people following you than people you follow. Your Twitter Karma lets you “whack,” as it puts it, those rude people whom you follow who don’t have the courtesy to reciprocate.

5. HootSuite

HootSuite provides a sophisticated second-generation Twitter program with all sorts of uses. In addition to sending tweets and integrating with your other social media, as provided by TweetDeck, HootSuite provides sophisticated Twitter analytics and lets you schedule the distribution of your tweets in advance.

6. Klout

Klout represents the Twitter users program of choice to measure your influence, the clout, your tweets carry, beyond obvious benchmarks such as the number of your followers. It is graded on a scale of 1 to 100.

7. TwitSweeper

TwitSweeper helps you remove Twitter followers who send out a lot of spam. It unfollows people who send a lot of automated tweets. You can set the program to either automatically unfollow them or notify you in advance and unfollow them if you fail to reverse the action in a certain time frame.

8. SocialOomph

SocialOomph provides many similar functions to HootSuite and lists many of them on its home page. They include scheduling tweets, tracking keywords, creating extended Twitter profiles, reciprocating to people who follow you and much more.

Re: Using Twitter To Double Your Traffic? - I'm sure in many cases Twitter sends more traffic than Search Engines because most people don't have good enough SE rankings to get SE traffic. But anyone can get Twitter traffic. The problem is that Twitter traffic won't convert for the most part and SE traffic will. I'd venture to say that 98% of the time getting just 100 visitors from search is better than getting 2000+ from Twitter.

Any experience with McManus UK Ltd.? - Did anybody already deal with any of the McManus UK Ltd offshore entities? I do have a program, but not enough cash. I have been advised that they can fund investors with access to Private Placement Programs but they don’t want to joint venture with me. They want a fee for the service. Re: Social Media Works If You Do It Right... - Hi Michelle, Ah, but it seems hashtags are still being used by a lot of people - including Twitter! So I would still use them for your keywords. It's just that if you are searching for something on Twitter you can either go the #hashtag route, or do a direct search on the Twitter homepage. I guess you could use #hashtags when searching on the Twitter homepage as well! DH
Re: Facebook or Twitter? - Thanks for the feedback guys! I personally started with Twitter and am now moving over to Facebook. I polled people on both my accounts and (not surprisingly) the Twitter people said Twitter and the Facebook people said Facebook! The actual order of my social media presence looks like this: 1) LinkedIn (with little success) 2) Twitter 3) YouTube 4) Facebook
