Conspiracy or coincidence?

I guess it comes from too many years of watching The X-Files, but it’s almost enough to make you believe there’s a conspiracy afoot.

“It” being a confluence of negative reporting about the Mac. Recently, several computer journalists came out with their annual “Macs cost more than PC” reports (for example, see our March 5 report). As usual, and no one adds up the real costs, such as total cost of ownership. Then this week, as if on cue, Microsoft debuts a series of “Macs cost too much” commercials.

Then there are the witless virus scares. Add in items such as the “quick” cracking of Safari, and you have to wonder.

It’s probably not a conspiracy. More likely, it’s reactions from a variety of folks who are scared of Apple’s continued ascendance while Microsoft struggles (at least from the standpoint of perception).
But still …

Re: New Norton Virus Protection features? Re: New Norton Virus Protection features? - Hi, Carol >>I can't see the smilies at the moment either, just the keyboard shortcuts for them, it's been like that all week since the last update that Evan did I think. Ah ha! So it's just strange timing and a coincidence. >>>What PDF converter are you using? And in another mysterious fix...after three days, the PDF converter now works.... yet I've done nothing new to my system, downloaded no new software, nada, zilch, zero. I just don't get it... (insert shoulder shrug smiley here...) Anyway, thanks for the offer of help!
Re: We Have Another One... Re: We Have Another One... - [quote:26xbk9wo]The person had the same name, but with a 7 at the end (actually, 77, because before, it was just a single 7).[/quote:26xbk9wo] Ah I didn't even notice that. Either way it was still the same person. Too much of a coincidence not to be. Plus he posted the exact same thing at another forum I moderate at around the same time. Don't worry I will let you know if I see him again.
Re: Alexa Ranking Goals Re: Alexa Ranking Goals - [quote="Trent Brownrigg":3k53fr0b] One thing I've always noticed over the years is that once you get around the 100,000 mark it seems to be much harder to improve it or even just keep it where it's at.[/quote:3k53fr0b] I think you are right. I now have a regular supply of new posts on the site (1 post every 12-48 hours at the moment), but the spike to 102,000 happened shortly after posting my review of Evan's video, with the video embedded... A coincidence?
Re: New man with Twitter Studies Re: New man with Twitter Studies - I have noticed I've developed a one-sided relationship with Twitter. I wonder how many others have too... Thanks to Wordpress blog plug-ins I now tweet almost every blog post that I publish. I also tweet any other article or blog post that I like IF there is a tweet button... BUT I hardly ever read anybody's tweets... The only time I read a tweet is if I happen to end up on my own account page and see something interesting pop up by coincidence. Does that strike a chord with anyone? Or do you have some good advice to offer me to show me what I'm missing? Thanks! DH
