Re: Inventing a food recipe Re: Inventing a food recipe - Well what would happen if someone from MarthaStewart.com or KraftFoods.com ate at a restaurant or bakery and realized that the pastry he/she bought was a recipe (or close imitation) from his/her website? What are the rules concerning the use of free web content like that (i.e. food recipes)? I highly doubt that a lot of the small bakeries out there actually have a brilliant pastry chef who developed all their recipes from scratch. How can you be 100% original in this particular case?
Re: What newsletter program to use? Re: What newsletter program to use? - Just did a quick review of GetResponse and v6.0 is impressive! but you should go with the Premium package which is $10 more than the Basic package per month. Does anyone know if they require Opt-in confirmation on imported contacts? I noticed they also include video emails and twitter integration. Nice product offering.
Re: 4 Ways to Go From Employee to Entrepreneur Re: 4 Ways to Go From Employee to Entrepreneur - The situation that Wezi describes is more the norm than the exception. I have spoken to many "entrepreneurs-to-be" that have a desire to work for themselves but can't overcome the fear of making that critical leap. The truth of the matter is, if fear is preventing you from moving forward with your own business you need to overcome that fear first. To do this, try this exercise: 1. Write down as many detailed reasons why you are DISSATISFIED with remaining in your job until you retire. E.g., it won't let you achieve the lifestyle you desire; you are sick of commuting an hour each day; etc. 2. Write down in as much detail as possible your VISION of what your life will be like once you have your own business and you are fully engaged in it. Enjoy this step. 3. Create a list of the action steps you need to actually complete to get things rolling. What do you need to do first? Second? Third? Create a step by step plan. These three steps all work together to overcome any resistance you may feel towards making a major change in your career. If after these exercises, you are still too afraid, look at what you have written down. Chances are one of the three forces for change (dissatisfaction, vision, or first steps) are not yet strong enough to overcome your fear. Perhaps, once you really thought about it, things aren't really that bad in your current career, etc.... Hope this helps.
Re: Ideas For Business Re: Ideas For Business - [quote="Lucy Wu":1n9v79xl]As for Kevin, Thank you for the idea and yes I have noticed that it is a great way to make profit, by selling baked goods made from scratch. It's good to know that you're a dessert expert, maybe you should write a blog for delicious recipes. I am not gifted in the kitchen, so that wouldn't be an option, but thanks for the suggestion. Maybe one day I'll be able to master baking goods.[/quote:1n9v79xl] Hi Lucy, I once thought about starting an interest related blog, but I'm just not a huge fan of its revenue model.
Re: Book Review - The Freedom Formula Re: Book Review - The Freedom Formula - Hi Shri, Thanks for your input. I have read a bit of the book. Now I say something which many may know, true freedom comes from the true source of Freedom. We read this in Luke 4v17-18. ......has sent me to proclaim freedom for the....proclaim of the Lord's favor. Later it reads, the people were amazed. She mentions God, but what about his son Jesus, who died and rose again. Jesus. Powerful. More and more people asking questions, why are we here and what is the purpose for our life. All the answers are in the Bible, which stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. A very successful guy in the US is Joel Osteen from Houston Texas, with over 40'000 people meeting every week. He has written a book: "Your Best Life Now" Well worth reading, too. Regards Beat
