1) Get buy-in

- employees and their supervisors/managers

2) Make training meaningful

3) Make it timely

4) Make it realistic

5) Make it positive

6) Make it about the learners

7) Remember that training is a process, not an event- planning and follow-up

8) Put learning into practice right away

9) Allow for an adjustment period - don't expect perfection (at least not immediately!)

10) Reinforce and encourage new skills
