1) Get buy-in

- employees and their supervisors/managers

2) Make training meaningful

3) Make it timely

4) Make it realistic

5) Make it positive

6) Make it about the learners

7) Remember that training is a process, not an event- planning and follow-up

8) Put learning into practice right away

9) Allow for an adjustment period - don't expect perfection (at least not immediately!)

10) Reinforce and encourage new skills

Making Money in 2011 - Hello forum members! As we draw closer to the new year I thought it would be appropriate to change the title of our forum category "Making Money in 2010" to "Making Money in 2011" - I'm looking forward to some interesting discussions and wish everyone a prosperous New Year!
Budget. - I believe the biggest barrier is related to budget. Training tends to be a normal practice for a big company. But I have to consider it seriously as an entrepreneur.

10 Tips For A Perfect Pitch! - To make a good impression and improve your chances of getting your seed money I have compiled a list of tips. I might not be the ultimate expert on this matter but we use these tips ourselves to prepare for meetings with potential investors so at least you know they are tested tips! In no particular order: 1: No more than 5 slides for your presentation! 2: don’t read the text on your slides 3: watch yourself! 4: timing is everything! 5: test your story 6: answer EVERY question 7: Don’t bluff, lie or try to be a smart-ass! 8: Use your deodorant 9: don’t be a clown 10: don’t pick a fight
