Digital Advertising and Product Sample Marketing

Advertising and marketing online is vastly different from offline businesses. However, there are aspects that are similar for both types. Consider product sampling. While the goal is the same -- to give away free or heavily discounted items -- the methods are different for online businesses. However, many business owners of both types of businesses admit that it is easier for them to implement product sampling with their online business than their offline business. The rules of freebie marketing tend to change frequently. As people grow tired of trends, companies have to adjust their marketing methods. Regardless, people have always appreciated companies that genuinely offer free items to its customers, with no strings attached.

Earlier trends involved selling, or giving away, items that required other larger items to use. For example, some companies sell razors at inexpensive prices, but consumers must spend a lot of money on replacement blades. Therefore, consumers may think they are getting a great deal on the razors, but spend the difference on replacement blades within the next couple of months.

Many people view this type of practice as dishonest. As a result, no trust is gained because no trust is earned. Additionally, this type of practice can result in both good and bad reviews.

Instead, companies need to return to a customer first mindset. Giving away free items with no ulterior motive will create more trust in a customer, making way for word of mouth marketing and repeat business. Your customer's trust is invaluable to your business.

In the digital realm, people are used to seeing sites that advertise free products, or what appears to be free, at least. Therefore, when implementing an online product sampling campaign, you must be extra careful to appear personal and genuine to your customers. Otherwise your customers may think you are another company out for their money.

It is not hard to appear genuine with your freebie marketing campaign. Optimize your site and social media sites to thoroughly explain that your free items are truly free, no strings attached. Your customers can receive your product by entering shipping information, or any other way that is convenient to you.

By returning to a customer first mindset, online business owners can create a special bond with their customers that last a long time.

Picking an external hard drive to backup my files Picking an external hard drive to backup my files - Does anyone here use an external hard drive to backup their computer files? And if so, which brand would you recommend? My friend suggested Western Digital or Maxtor... but I read some bad reviews about Western Digital on Futureshop.ca. And more importantly, would you trust buying a supposedly "brand new" external hard drive on Ebay? How could I really tell if it was used or not?
