Tips For Running A Retail Giveaway

The primary goal behind any retail marketing plan is to increase foot traffic and drive revenue. One of the more effective ways of bringing more clients to your retail store is to have a promotional giveaway. There are a few tips and hints that every retailer can use to create a successful giveaway and use it to improve retail sales. Remember that the items you giveaway do not necessarily have to be things that you carry regularly. But if they are related to your products, then they will have a positive impact. For example, if you own a clothing store and you want to promote the incoming line of summer clothes, then giving away free beach balls would be an effective promotion. You do not sell beach balls normally, but they compliment the idea of your summer clothing line so well that people will be interested in them.

Find ways of limiting the amount of freebie products your customers can get. If you do not set a limit, then a small amount of customers will clean you out of free merchandise in a hurry. Use a coupon system that indicates that each customer only gets one item, or provide a free product only to those customers making a purchase.

When you decide to give away free merchandise, you need to make a big deal about it. Put up signs in your store announcing the pending promotional giveaway, and use local media outlets to get the word out as well. Remember that free products are used to lure new customers into your store and get them to become long-term clients. It is an investment in the future of your store, so think big.

Retail promotions that give away free products can be extremely effective at getting people to come to your store. But if you do not have the proper guidelines in place, then you will run out of promotional product too quickly and the impact of your promotion will be lost. Plan your freebie retail promotion carefully, and have a goal in mind when putting your plan together.

I will take your comments about the header on board. A tag line is also a great idea. I have installed a Wordpress blog with the aim of making the site more interactive and possibly as a platform for other people's articles and essays. Running a reviewing service is also a nice idea. Much appreciated. Thanks, DH
