Go for the niche keywords in PPC

One of the most important things to know before even starting to do Pay Per Click management and setting up a campaign is to know the amount you are willing to pay to bid on keywords or key phrases. The keywords bringing most of the traffic can also cost a lot and it is actually not rare to get a cost per click of £5 to £10 depending on the sector and the competition for that keyword. Now, are you really willing to pay such a huge price per click to hit the top spot of Google or Yahoo?

Before deciding to go ahead, there are a couple of things you actually need to consider. Remember that on average, a common e-commerce website converts around two percents of its visitors. It actually means that you would need to get around fifty to seventy people to the site before you make any sale, signup or anything else. So if you pay £8 for a click, it means you will have to spend around £400 for only one sale. This work if you can generate more than £400 of profit from a sale, but it is barely the case.

The best thing to do really is to go after the less popular keywords that are actually more niche to your market and obviously cost less. Even if each of those keywords may have a low value and get you only a couple of clicks, taken as a group, they can simply bring you a huge amount of traffic at a pretty low cost.

By targeting those less popular keywords, you would nearly get the same amount of traffic as if you had targeted one of those popular and expensive keywords, and obviously at a much lower cost.

The only disadvantage of using this strategy is actually that it can be difficult to deal with such a large number of keywords and key phrases. It will probably take you a lot of time to make changes and monitor your keywords.

If you do not want to have to deal with all of that Pay Per Click management, you can still outsource the work to an SEO company or SEO professionals specialized in PPC.
Even if this kind of service will come at a certain cost, you can be sure that the work will be done by a professional Pay Per Click management team who will run your campaign more efficiently and free you some time as well.

Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategies Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategies - I'd disagree with the first point. Keyword research is important, but it should not be the complete focus when doing niche research. A niche is typically made up of thousands of keywords, and researching them all is very difficult, because the keyword tools won't tell you what most of them are. Plus a niche is not a bunch of keywords, it is a demographic interested in a particular topic. You need to learn about the people in this demographic. Keyword research tells you their search habits and gives clues to competitiveness and potential profit, but you are looking at through a very narrow window of a much bigger picture.

Knowing about both the group and the keywords they tend to use is of course the best combination, but if you thoroughly understand your niche market and your products, the content you write for your website and the articles you post elsewhere will almost certainly include natural "keyword phrases" even if you don't research the keywords - and if your niche is tightly defined, that will probably suffice. I am not saying you should ignore keyword research, but knowing your products and market is more important.
Re: Traffic! How do you get it? Re: Traffic! How do you get it? - For me it's all about SEO, and always has been. As far as I am concerned the best way to get traffic is to get to the top of the search engine rankings (mainly Google) for your main keywords. Once you get there the traffic comes in every day with very little extra work on your part, if any at all. Plus, it's highly targeted and without a doubt the best traffic a site can get. So, how do you get to the top of the search engines? Simple... LINKS, LINKS, LINKS, and more LINKS! The more backlinks you have, the better. But you can't just have a bunch of crappy links from anywhere, they have to be quality. Keyword anchored links from authority sites in your niche are the best links you can get. I've achieved and maintained top 10 Google ranking for some of the most competitive keywords in the world. And I did it by myself without any special SEO skills. It's all about quality backlinks, and don't let anyone tell you differently! Here are a few ideas for getting backlinks... Submit articles to article directories, comment on dofollow blogs, do link exchanges, submit your site to link directories, social bookmarking sites, write guest posts for blogs, buy links, run contests, forums, linkbait, and several other ways. Also, you need to be targeting the right keywords to rank for. No point in ranking #1 for keywords that nobody searches for. Do some research to find the best keywords in your niche to rank for.
Re: Can Google Alerts Increase Your Search Engine Rankings? Re: Can Google Alerts Increase Your Search Engine Rankings? - I mainly use Google Alerts to stay informative about keywords within the competition in my niche. I'm currently following several keywords on Google Alerts on a daily basis. It helps a lot for SEO purposes.
