Link baiting strategy

The quantity and quality of inbound links going to your site are some of the elements used by a search engine to decide where to put a website in its ranking for a specific keyword or key phrase. Link baiting can be considered as a part of link building. Its aim simply is to raise the number of relevant back links going to your site. It is considered to be a white hat SEO technique used nearly worldwide because it works so well. The first thing to do when setting up your link bating strategy is to develop very interesting content related to a keyword or key phrase you want to be top for. The reason for that simply is because link baiting like its name says is the process of having good and interesting content that people will want to link to or put on their blogs. This should result in the improvement of your page rank as well as rank on the search engines for a specific term.

The main issue lays in the fact that you need to be creative enough to write good content and then promote it through sites like Digg to let people know that there is some great content out waiting to be linked to.

Those baits can be divided into different categories.

The first one is called the Informational bait. It simply provides information. The best example for that kind of bait is the top 10 tips or top 5 tips article. People usually find that kind of content very interesting and are likely to link to it.

News baits are different as they give news on a particular topic.

Humor baits can be anything from a funny story, joke or a weird picture. Their aim is obviously to make people laugh so they send the link to their mates or put a link on their blogs or sites back to the funny picture or joke.

Evil baits are a bit nastier and need to be used with extreme caution. Saying something unpopular or controversial is probably going to bring a lot of attention but be careful on what you say or this will damage your reputation more than anything else.

Tool baits also are great baits because you are providing something useful to people.

In the end, do not forget that link baiting is about attracting people to your site and link to a specific page on it. It is important to talk about that link bait to speed up the process by using networking sites and blogs to promote it.

Re: Do Women Play the Stock Market? Re: Do Women Play the Stock Market? - Hi Aneshia, [quote="AneshiaYS":1lz5khur]I implement a strategy for risk management[/quote:1lz5khur] I'm glad to read this. I think it's the most important part of investing. "Diversify" and have a clear "exit strategy" - ah yes, but "following it" is the hard part and if you have a strategy to induce your clients to follow the strategy, I should think it would be an excellent service.
Need Help Growing? Need Help Growing? - One resource that I've found to be extremely helpful was calling the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). I've met a lot of top business owners who have used the BDC for various reasons (i.e. sales/marketing strategy, training, foreign development, etc) and all say it was a massive help. The BDC will usually help you create the strategy using industry specific consultants and then not only help you fund the consultant's work but also the strategy. Their loan terms are little higher than banks but they’re a lot more easy going and understanding than regular banks.
Strategy People Strategy People - Greetings all! Recently I have come to the understanding that I am severely lacking strategy. I have many, many tactics on how to make money with my business but without a strategy to implement those tactics I'm spinning my wheels. Has anyone found someone who is a great strategist for their business? There are lots of 'readable' resources around but like more entrepreneurs, I'm too busy thinking of ways to make money for my business rather than learning strategy. So, for me the best thing is to find someone who can help guide my business in strategic planning. Someone who can supplement my strengths with their own. As an extra question, is this a common trait amung entrepreneurs? How many here are good at strategy? If you learned to be good, how did you learn?
