Why you should consider making internet video infomercials - it's easier than you may think

Here's six good reasons why you should consider making internet video infomercials:

++ Video is a credible medium ++
Because seeing and hearing is believing, people trust moving pictures more than they do the printed word or straight audio. By making your own internet video infomercial you put a face, a voice and a persona to the product or service you're trying to promote.

++ Internet video is dirt cheap ++
If you have an Internet connection and a video camera that can create video computer files, the only other cost involved in making Internet video infomercials is your time. With practice you should be able to shoot, edit, caption and upload a simple one to two minute video in about 3-4 hours. Microsoft includes a basic video editing software package called Movie Maker with Windows XP. It's fine for simple editing, adding captions and some special effects.

++ Infomercials use a proven formula ++
The infomercial formula may seem trite and shop-worn, but the reasons advertisers still use it is because it works. Billions of dollars in sales have been generated using the AIDA formula. AIDA stands for: attention - interest - desire - action. Writing an infomercial script isn't that hard. In fact there is a free online infomercial script generator at searchtempo.com that can get you started.

++ There are multiple free distribution channels ++
There are over 50 video streaming sites desperate for your content - even your advertising content. The best known ones are Youtube, Google video, Metacafe, and Yahoo Video, but there are many more. You will find that within minutes of uploading your video, dozens of people will have watched your video. I had over 200 viewings of my search engine optimisation infomercial within 24 hours. And that was from just one video streaming web site. Multiply that by 50 sites and you can imagine the impact and increase in web traffic.

++ The search engines just love video ++
Within hours of uploading your videos to the popular sites the major search engines will have spidered and indexed the video titles and descriptions. These titles and descriptions rank very well in the search engines.

The use of video on the Internet to promote products and services or to generate traffic to a web site is just another example of the web 2.0 phenomenon - user generated content rules. By creating and uploading your own video content I can guarantee you will get more traffic, more credibility and more sales.

Re: Free Online Screen Recording Tools Re: Free Online Screen Recording Tools -
Hi David, Can any of these tools record YouTube videos (and/or audio from YouTube)?[/quote:3r5ksabo] Hi Kevin, Another option is to download RealPlayer along with their video download manager plugin. What this does is bring up a little bar over any flash video that is opened. You can then choose to download the video straight to your computer. Then, you can watch the video using RealPlayer. The new plugin also allows you to convert the video to other video formats. I've used it quite a bit and absolutely love it. It's much easier than setting up screen recorder software to record the video. It works with any Flash video which includes YouTube videos. So far I've only gotten it to work with Internet Explorer. For some reason I get an Add-On error in FireFox.
Re: Gap Between Rich and Poor Widens Re: Gap Between Rich and Poor Widens - This a true posting. But this issues has been from the foudation of the world. Not everyone will be rich and not everyone will be poor. What makes the difference is desire and choice everyone is making. I read a qoute from a book sometimes back that: At the top of the ladder of success, few people are there, while at the bottom, there are croud. Look for instance, internet has been operating since 1996, but you still some people with notion that internet is for dubious people. What will keep making the gap to be widen is lack of working knowledge. Thank you GT for starting this thread.
Youtube Tags and fake newscasts Youtube Tags and fake newscasts - in addition to using Tags I also suggest using a video editing software to embed a line of text at the bottom of your video's to point to your site. I've seen some video where people make their video's look like a news release from a news channel (made up news channel). This is no different that submitting an ad in the newspaper and making it look like an article. Keep the video entertaining with some Richard Branson theatrics...
Re: Video conference system for families living in different cou Re: Video conference system for families living in different cou - 1) How much will someone pay for the service? 2.1) What costs are involved on the business end? 2.2) What percent on top of that do you think you deserve as profit? 3) How many people will sign up for the service? These three will give you a rough estimate of the value of your idea. use the equation below with respect to the questions above to figure out the value of your idea. ((1 - (2.1 + 2.2)) X 3) You have alread identified major problems for your idea -- you have competition that is free! Computers are easy to hook to televisions, and it is becoming easier at very fast rate. (For free stuff other than skype, look up NetMeeting if you have Windows XP.) The video conferencing systems do a poor job of creating the feel of a physical presence. Even high dollar systems with dedicated internet bandwidth and extremely nice tracking video cameras do a poor job, especially for long distance runs. I have the experienced the disappointing performance of some of these systems on our campus. Video can not recreate the connection felt when in the same room with another person. Step 1, Quickly and roughly calculate the cost of the system you propose. Step 2, Compare that with what you think someone will pay and the cost of your current compeition. Step 3, Go / No-Go.
Re: video vs. text Re: video vs. text -
I'm not a fan of sites that have audio/video as soon as it loads. I prefer if they give me the option to click play. mainly 'cos i usually have my speakers turned up and it's startles me.[/quote:250bluzr] I agree with you Andy because sites with video/audio on their homepage also eat up my temporary internet memory. Besides, after the first viewing of the video or audio message, I can't imagine wanting to see it again, so it becomes a bothersome task having to constantly hit the "pause" or "stop" button every time I visit the site.
