The lifeblood of websites.

High search engine rankings are the lifeblood of any website if you want to get more customers and more sales. Is it important to be listed on the first result page or is it enough to be listed in the top 30 results?

If you want to get visitors, you must be listed in the top 30 results

A study about this topic was released last year and key among the findings relating to the current search engine user community is that 62% of search engine users click on a search result within the first page of results,

This study confirmed the importance of being listed in the first few pages. If your web site is not listed in the first few pages, changes are that web surfers won't see your site.

So, you ask, how do I get listed in the first few pages? Well, the answer is SEO! SEO stands for search engine optimization -- what it means is to have your website optimized for maximum recognition by the search engines. Here's why you need it. It prepares your web site to be spidered, indexed and ranked by the major search engines so that when internet users search for your keywords, your website will appear on their results page. When properly executed, search engine optimization yields targeted traffic to the site and increases revenues.

Also with testimonials if it does have a persons name and company I dont take them seriously.
Re: How do you get your clients? Re: How do you get your clients? - I think staying away from gathering clients strictly online when first starting out is probably a good idea. Your first few clients could maybe be people you know, or know through somebody that may require some of your services. Another good way of gaining new clientel is offering your first few clients completely free service in exchange for placing your business card or promotional material in their business if you're doing b2b sales. Referrals are the lifeblood of many small businesses.
Re: Buy An Established Affiliate Marketing Website Re: Buy An Established Affiliate Marketing Website - Good information guys! It's so weird to think of websites as property, but that's just how things have changed so much over the past 20 years. Your tips here are all very good and things I wouldn't have thought about if I were someone looking into "pre-built" websites. Does anyone know how websites' values are assessed? That may be helpful as well.
Re: Page Rank Update Re: Page Rank Update - It's mostly believed that PR updates occur every 2 or 3 months, so basically the number you see on a given website is old. and only google DBs have the real updated number. Of course different websites go up or down depending on many factors. Like traffic, fresh content, links value, etc. You may see new websites that gain a PR of 6 in as little as 6 months, and you will also see 3 year old websites with 0 PR (pretty lame).
