3 more SEO myths slapped

We've already taken a good look at 3 of the most common SEO fallacies doing the rounds. Myths that seem to have hung around for years picking up fans and followers through little more than their refusal to disappear. The SEO equivalent of Status Quo or William Hague. The myth that SEO is a Black Art was dismissed instantly. The false promises and false economy of trying to game the system and the suspicions that PPC spend will open the door to top natural placements were also shaken down. There are plenty more nasty little non-truths out there, though. Pesky distractions to waste your time and to get you to take your eye of the SEO ball. Here are three more of the main offenders:

Keywords

Keywords, keywords, keywords - the lifeblood of search and SEO; the very means by which our intentions are expressed and interpreted. Of course key words are essential. Keywords in title tags, and keywords on your content pages and in link anchor text is a big deal. Sticking them all over the shop or crowbarring them into copy isn't such a good idea. It's a bit like Audrey Hepburn walking into your jewellers. Want to make a good impression? Then just act natural. When it comes to keywords just write clear, concise, informative, interesting and entertaining copy for your readers and let the keywords take care of themselves.

Meta tags

'Optimise' your keyword meta tags if you want. It won't do you the slightest bit of good though. They were relevant to SEO once upon a time but were so stuffed and abused that all the major search engines decided to pass them by. That said, everyone seems to still complete them for some reason. Does anyone dare not to? Why not use them for a bit of competitor research and take a look at the words and phrases that the enemy is going for?

XML Sitemaps

There's talk out there that an XML sitemap will boost your Google rankings. It won't. Whilst an XML sitemap is a good way to help make sure that your site is crawled and indexed efficiently you won't benefit from any additional link juice as some people believe. An XML sitemap is a good thing to have but not for the reasons that many SEOs say it is.

Talk to your SEO team or online marketing professionals for more information on how to succeed at SEO.

Finance and the Disabiled Entrepreneurs Advice Needed Finance and the Disabiled Entrepreneurs Advice Needed - Need advice from someone who has been in my situation before. One thing is, we have been financing my adventure. It is not cheep and in this group you all understand this!! Not only did I start up my business of photography, but got into land as well. I got into land for the opportunity was there and I took it! Now just yesterday I was asked if I wanted another 40 acres on top of the 20 acres.... this I feel can wait? My thought pattern has been and still is to prove to the finance establishments that I produce what people want. I make it myself, that is my photography. I also want to prove to these establishments that I am worth investing in. Now comes the part that I am just not sure of and need advice on. I called the government and had a very lengthy conversation about the disability program I am on. What can or cant I do on the program, if it is a program that I can get kicked off of etc.. My goal is to make, in profits over what I get in disability. I am working very hard at this. This goal of mine is to prove to myself that I can do it no matter what program I am on. The government claims I can make whatever I can. I can own whatever. I am disabled, will always be disabled and the federal disability judge has determined this. BUT the state has already slapped my hands for trying and I do not get their help. I do not understand the states stance on this. To be totally self sufficient I need help. I try very hard to overcome my health problems, but health is health. Now will the financial establishments see me being disabled a bad thing? I have never been into grants, but maybe that is a route to go? What do you think?
