How to squeeze extra value from your SEO

Times are tough and there are no guarantees that we've seen the back of a rather unpleasant spot of economic weather. Some experts are even forecasting more rain before shine. With belt tightening the order of the day, what better time to take a close look at your website performance, your online marketing strategies and expenditure? How could things be done better? Not necessarily cheaper - but better - better value, better returns, better profits. Isn't it about time that your Internet investments started to work harder for you?

Here are just two areas that can help you start to squeeze extra value out of your online expenditure. PPC

Are you really managing your PPC properly? Or are you burning cash because you aren't on top of things? Even at £50 a day you're spending £1500 a month on PPC. How? Where's the cash going? Are you using it effectively? You can achieve a great deal spending that sort of money on organic SEO with fresh original content every month. Are you competing against yourself with top natural listings on keywords that you are also paying for with PPC? Are you bidding on keywords that lead to conversions? Measure and check where your conversions (not necessarily your traffic) come from. What's the point in paying to attract visitors to your site who bounce before conversion?

Solid SEO foundations

Revisit your business vision and review your site from top to bottom. Take a fresh look at everything from keywords, tags, anchor text, internal linking and coding through to off-page SEO such as your link building, directory submissions and the like.

Sit down with your SEO provider and clarify that the project, that your whole online presence is 'on message.' Over time it's easy to lose sight of the bigger picture to end up attracting the wrong sort of traffic for traffic's sake or to dilute your fundamental value propositions. It's not an expensive or time consuming thing to do, but it may end up saving you a fortune in cash and wasted time and energy spent speeding off in the wrong direction.

All good businessmen realise that to make money you need to spend it too. Talk to your SEO team to make sure that you are spending it as wisely and efficiently as possible.

Re: Basic HTML splash pages... Re: Basic HTML splash pages... - I like your squeeze pages very much David. Nothing sticks out to me as being "wrong" with them. They are just my style. And yeah that squeeze page from Glen Allsopp (viperchill) has amazing conversions. I can see why too.
Re: Email autoresponder messages: what delivery intervals? Re: Email autoresponder messages: what delivery intervals? - Advanced segmenting of email lists add greater flexibility. For example, separating buyers from customers. It makes sense to let buyers consume the product they just purchased. Stop the regular intervals here a little bit before sending normal promo emails. It can be done with Auto responders, but manual process. With advanced shopping carts, this is more automated, but initially the set up can be complex. To get around this, what I do is add separate and new squeeze pages to create "sub-lists". So one lead comes through funnel A, then after the lead went through a few emails in the pre-loaded interval, I will send a new squeeze page. While the first funnel continues to send relevant emails, the new funnel starts sending information only relevant to the squeeze page. This way, the subscribers don't get confused.
Re: Go the extra mile - It's never crowded. Re: Go the extra mile - It's never crowded. - So the good question here will be... How do you go to extra mile? Anyone has insight to share? For me... going extra mile is doing the things so easy for others to do, but people rarely do. That's going extra mile. How about you?
Re: How To Use Free Promotions For Your Internet Business? Re: How To Use Free Promotions For Your Internet Business? - Hi Tyrone, What advice would you give to people who are trying to build an Internet business in their free time and are often too busy with their main job to spend much time promoting it? One of my suggestions would be to take out a paid membership of a few traffic exchanges and point your monthly supply of credits (page views) to a squeeze page or to some other pages on your site. That way, you only have to allocate the credits it once a month, so it is a very quick and easy way to promote your site. Also, whenever you have a few minutes to spare - too little time to do anything major for your online business - you can add to surf the traffic exchanges to add extra credits.
Re: How do you create the WOW factor in business? Re: How do you create the WOW factor in business? - Yeah it's fine for around 2-3 people and a waiter is capable of memorizing. But if it's like a huge group of 10 and they can still manage, it's very impressive and they deserve extra tip. Some restaurants, need extra work because when i ask about the menu, most employees were clueless.
