Using QR Codes
QR Codes
Quick Response (QR) Codes are becoming quite popular. They are a great way to take vital information and make it quickly accessible in our mobile age.
This QR code above contains info about my business.
You can use these online, in print, in store windows, on business cards, almost anywhere you might imagine. You could even make them part of an elaborate promotional involving a contest or scavenger hunt. The only limit is your creativity.
Using QR Codes in your Business
Important Tips
1) If your QR code contains a URL, make sure the landing page is mobile compatible
2) Also keep the URL short.
3) Make the content it contains useful.
4) QR codes can take up to 30% deterioration and still be readable, which provides an opportunity for customization.
Branding
You can brand your QR code or customize it in many ways. Below is an example of branding the QR code above with my company logo:
Getting it to work properly will require some trial and error. So you need to make sure it is still readable after your modifications.
I usedZXing QR Code Generator (free) to create it.
I usedPaint.Net (free) to modify it with my logo as an added layer (with the blending mode set to "Multiply" and the opacity set to 201).
