How To Increase Your Search Engine Ranking On Google In 5 Simple Steps
The rewards for getting that #1 spot on google are enormous, as I am sure you are aware.
Motivated prospects will come to your site from your search engine positioning. Once they arrive on your site, rely on your sales message to convert the prospect into a customer.
It is a good idea to learn basic html so you can edit and create web pages. Learn how to master or at least become competent in search engine optimization.
Follow the simple steps below to increase Your Search Engine Ranking and possibly get that #1 spot on google.
1) Target the right keywords. Target the wrong keyword phrases and your online business is destined to fail.
2) Don't use keywords or phrases that are too broad. The competition is too fierce, and research has shown that though you will get more traffic through general phrases, that traffic doesn't convert to sales. All of the traffic in the world will do you no good if it doesn't convert to sales!
3) Optimize your page content. Target each Web page to a different and highly focused keyword phrase. In other words, your main page should be optimized for one keyword phrase. Are the keywords used relative to the site's overall content? Do you use too many keywords, or too few?
4) Submit your important Web pages manually to the major search engines, rather than using a handy dandy software program that will submit your pages to 1,000,000 engines...
5) Work hard at building your link popularity by asking sites that are related to yours in content to link back to your site. Also, make sure that you get your site listed in all of the major directories, such as Yahoo and ODP. Writing and submitting articles on your related topic is also very effective to increase your link popularity.
Don't forget that the number one method by far for traffic generation is to achieve high rankings with the search engines. Take into consideration this list and apply the best of your abilities where needed on your website. Constant care to your website will increase your traffic and sales in the long run.

- After re-reading through the posts in this thread it seems to me like there might be a little confusion as to what Page Rank (PR) really is.
For those who don't know...
PR is a number between 1 and 10 that Google assigns to a web page based on it's importance. With 10 being the highest and most important. It's mainly determined by the number and quality of inbound links to the web page but there are other factors as well.
It is NOT the ranking your site has in the Google search engine or any other search engine. If you are ranked #3 on google for "home business" that does not mean you have a PR of 3. They are completely separate things.
Furthermore, PR does not determine how high a site ranks in the search engines. It's possible and very common for a site with a low PR to outrank and site with a higher PR for the same keyword phrase.
If you want to raise your PR then you need more backlinks. Higher PR backlinks will pass more link juice to you and help raise it much easier.
On that same note, if you want to increase your search engine rankings for a particular keyword then you also need more backlinks with the keyword you are targeting as the anchor text. When it comes to that, Page Rank and Search Engine Ranking Positions are very similar but that is it.
People often think that they need high PR to get good search engine rankings and it is not true. They also tend to think that just because a site has high PR then it is better than a site with lower PR, that is also not always the case.
One final thing about this is that the PR you see on your Google Toolbar for a web page only updates a few times per year and is not necessarily the actual PR for that page. The actual PR is stored at Google and is updated constanty, and is not shown to the public. Only they know what it really is.
I hope that clears up some common misconceptions about Google Page Rank (PR).

I answer this post, to start off. I am still learning a lot on all these subjects. Moreover, we have a wonderful tool to find out from previous posts.
On the top right corner, use 'Advanced Search' and write 'Search Engine Tips'. It brings up all the previous posts with that information.
Check it out. You will be surprised all the inherent information stored.

- I have download grease monkey plugin in my Mozilla browser when i check Google ranking for keywords it give results in serial way like 1.2.3..... so it is easy to check Google Ranking.
