You can include a lot of Meta tags in
your HTML web page header to prop up your SEO rankings and get your site on top
of the search engines, one of the more important and often overlooked of these
HTML tags is the character set. The character set is the first line of any web
site HTML code and the first item that search spiders from Google, Yahoo and
the other Top Search Engines will index in your sites web page. Website coders
tend to be sloppy when they write these tags without knowing that it has a lot
to do in keeping pages competitive and achieving top search engine rankings.
The character set tag defines the type of characters that is used in
the website page. Whether you are using Apple Safari, Firefox, Internet
Explorer, Google's Chrome or any other Browser, defining the character set,
your Browser does not have to use the default character set to read your files.
A defined character set tells search engine spiders how you want to transmit
the content to the browser and how the browser enders your website page. In addition,
you can also define what computer logic should be used in manipulating your
text.
Make sure that the character set is the first line in your page's HTML
code. This will tell the search engine spider how to read your web page files
before it starts indexing your website. Proper use of the Charachter Set tag
along with proper and complete use of meta tags will lead to faster and deeper
indexing by the search engines, more relevant search results for your site and
most importantlt Top Search Engine Ranking.

- To get ranking on Yahoo and Bing you need to have correct Meta Tags as proper optimization is something Yahoo and Bing prefers. Apart from that try to create backward links from Yahoo answers, Wiki answers, Associated content, Flickr. Yahoo prefers these sites and even nofollow links.

Your robot file is correct; no lets work on your Page Titles & Meta Data.
Do you have access to create different page titles for each page of your website? Do you have your FTP information...please do not post it here but just let me know if you have access.

Youtube Tags and fake newscasts
- in addition to using Tags I also suggest using a video editing software to embed a line of text at the bottom of your video's to point to your site.
I've seen some video where people make their video's look like a news release from a news channel (made up news channel).
This is no different that submitting an ad in the newspaper and making it look like an article. Keep the video entertaining with some Richard Branson theatrics...

Of course there is a way and you know it, you wrote it down in your question.
1- Optimize your main blog code : Meta keywords, title, description.
2- Optimize your post - look at it as a web page. You need keywords (tags), use them in your title, first and last paragraph, and variations on the entire blog.
Use the Strong tag, add title to links and alt to images.
This is it. The key here is to do a good keyword search before writing.
