Selecting Keywords & Keyword Phrases for Best SEO Rankings

When selecting the Keywords and Keyword Phrases for your Website, seeking to achieve high rankings in Google and Yahoo and the other search engines, you need to consider how the spiders view your web site. Rarely are the search engine spiders reading single words, every sentence on your Website is composed of multiple words or phrases.

By carefully crafting your websites content, or using a professional company to do keyword and SEO Copywriting you can capitalize on these multi word phrases. For instance, instead of just saying "We do SEO", try something like, our top SEO website offers a large amount of information local SEO, SEO for business websites, SEO aimed at getting you to the top of the search engines. Re: Keyword Selection Re: Keyword Selection - Hi All, Very interesting topic of discussion! Website success mainly depends upon the target keywords so the keywords should be relevant to website theme. Long tail keywords often rank easily in SERP. You can also use Ad word Keyword tool for keyword selection. Keyword having less competition and high monthly search volume are easy to rank.
Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategies Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategies - I'd disagree with the first point. Keyword research is important, but it should not be the complete focus when doing niche research. A niche is typically made up of thousands of keywords, and researching them all is very difficult, because the keyword tools won't tell you what most of them are. Plus a niche is not a bunch of keywords, it is a demographic interested in a particular topic. You need to learn about the people in this demographic. Keyword research tells you their search habits and gives clues to competitiveness and potential profit, but you are looking at through a very narrow window of a much bigger picture.

Re: Alexa Ranking Goals Re: Alexa Ranking Goals - Thanks for posting the Alexa Rankings again Evan. Well done Mal that is a tremendous improvement, just keep on doing what you have been doing but really don't worry too much about the AR, it just nice as a way to keep us on track. David I had the same problem with Alexa and Google, who knows why they do what they do either we are in favor or not but I just keep on and hope for the best. MichelleJ
Re: Traffic! How do you get it? Re: Traffic! How do you get it? -

I agree, [i:1neald8i]"The solution before getting traffic, is RESEARCH"[/i:1neald8i]. "Keywords" are the source of traffic and its completely true that we should do a bit of research before crafting an article. Now a days, i see like its quite easy to rank well for long tail keywords esp. on Google because of the "freshness" in serp. The newly indexed articles are placed above the older articles to show fresh content to the user. Its advantage too but the question is, how long you stay in top position ?[/quote:1neald8i] It depends on your competition, but to ensure you stay there, simply build backlinks to your site, post, etc. This can be done through article marketing (including web 2.0 sites) as David suggested, blog commenting, forum posting and social bookmarking.[/quote:1neald8i] I'm really bad at just sitting down to write without doing keyword research! Thanks all for the reminder of how important it is to do. I'll work on making it part of my article-writing routine![/quote:1neald8i] Keyword research is a very good habit to get into. It's so easy not to and to just start writing, but it really only takes an extra five to ten minutes to find a keyword or two relevant to your article.
