One way reciprocal link exchange theory.

First thing how do you find out as to who is providing a link??It isn't that easy and SERP'S doesn't depend on your link exchange (reciprocal) but on traffic garnered through backlinks (inbound).
I am providing you with a sure shot idea.First go to alexa and check your website's rank and the number of websites linking to your website.Check your competitor's rank and links.Extract those links.
When you go in for a one way reciprocal link exchange be sure that the website you are exchanging your link with is in your category by every means (approximate no of backlinks and same service or product category).
No website with a page rank of 4 would want to put your website in it's link page and let him place his website in yours.
So see to it that the page where your website is placed has a minimum PR of 2-3 and do the same for his page.
Extract his anchor text and place it in one of your rough link pages and send him a request stating that you would prefer a single one way link exchange but if interested the links can be moved to a page with a better PR.
If there is a reply then things are in Progress or forget about it.Wait for a week after sending them the request.Try their contact page.If not then move ahead for greener pastures. But prior to all these get your backlinks and PR up.Only then will you have a crop of websites trying to link up to.After all isn't it said "Success is relative, the more success the more relatives."

Re: link exchange strategy Re: link exchange strategy - [quote="RussellWebb":2xvcpjwz]Questions that pop into mind... Does PR ranking effect 'who' you would exchange links with? Do you really need thousands of links to rank higher in the SE's? Are one-way links better than reciprocal links?[/quote:2xvcpjwz] Hi Russell, While I know you posed these SEO questions for Samin, I thought I'd help you get the conversation started by putting in my 2 cents. 1.) I think it's all about getting "quality" and high ranking/trusted sites (that are related to the content of your site and industry) to link back to you. 2.) While it's somewhat true that the more links you have the better, I'd suggest focusing on "quality" links rather than quantity. Poor sites and ones that aren't related to your field can actually hurt your rankings. 3.) Absolutely, it's much better if someone only links to you. However, reciprocal links are still good for those who have just launched a new site and are getting started. If I'm wrong about any of these comments, please feel free to correct me.
Link exchange Link exchange - Link exchange is the popular method of increasing page rank and generating maximum incoming traffic. But generating enough links is not as easy as it seems. There are many important things you should take care of before starting your link exchange campaign. Before discussing link exchange tips, we should understand exactly what a link exchange is. Link exchange is simply the exchange of your links with others. Every Webmaster wants the maximum number of visitors coming to his site for obvious reasons; his revenue and site popularity both increase with the increased number of visitors. But the basic question remains on how a Webmaster will be able to generate enough links coming to his site? There are two popular methods for creating the targeted links, one is manual and the other is the use of automated linking programs. Whatever method you choose for your linking campaign, remember that each has its own pros and cons. For instance, manual linking may take months to complete and automatic linking can result in untargeted and irrelevant links.
Re: Alexa Ranking Goals Re: Alexa Ranking Goals - Thanks GT for the info. Articles and blog commenting are good way to get a one-way backlinks. I heard that if we can link exchange with competitors and high ranking sites, will it helps us? There are people who sells high PR sites packets like Angela and Paul Backlink packs, for link exchange. Is that worth exploring? Thanks, Robert
