Reviews and expert opinions carry a lot of weight with consumers, but only if they are believable. This means publishing the bad as well as the good, although not in your own testimonials. Consumers will avoid products or services that have nothing but bad reviews, but they will also expect even the greatest product to have some negative reviews and it will rarely put buyers off completely to have a couple of bad or indifferent reviews against an otherwise great product rating.

Honesty is essential. Not only will it endear you to your potential customers but it can prevent nasty surprises for everybody further down the line. And you will inevitably get caught out. To show off your honesty and credibility display any trust or security logos that you are legitimately allowed to display but don't get carried away pushing this information down your potential buyer's throat.
