Interesting new KEI Metrics and Keyword Research upgrades at Wordtracker
If you have not visited the keyword research tool, Wordtracker in the last little while, there are a number of upgrades that I'm sure you'll enjoy. There is more keyword data than ever before as well as everything seems to run much faster than the old classic version of Wordtracker (which as you may know, I also dearly loved for Keyword Forensics as well as keyword research in general.)
Interesting and improved metrics include:
plus 2 New KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) defenitions.
1. KEI
Keyword Effectiveness Index (KEI) can help you identify popular keywords that have less competition. In return, you can go after keyword phrase clusters that are like low hanging fruit. Get the visibility without all the stress.
It compares the number of times a keyword has been searched for with competition (the number of pages that contain the exact keyword phrase within at least one of its incoming links).
Here's how it has changed:
KEI = Searches ^ 2 / In Anchor
2. KEI3
KEI3 is another new experimental metric which may help you identify and target differences and irregularities between popularity and competition.
Here is the new KEI3 formula:
KEI3 = Searches / In Anchor And Title
What else is new in Wordtracker's newest Keyword Research upgrade:
They have included an 'In Anchor And Title' metric, which measures competition. It gives you a much better idea of the the number of web pages that have had some measure of optimization done and at least are genuinely competing for a specific keyword phrase.
Are there other surprises in store? The Wordtracker team are continually striving to bring you new improvements so if you have not had a chance to check out the newest Wordtracker tool, or if you are just brand new to keyword research, you can sign up for a 7 Day Free Trial with full functionality and get a look at all of the latest features and benefits.
