SEO Help

Ok, so you’ve read all the articles you could about search engine optimization. You’ve done your keyword analysis and stuffed keywords in all the appropriate places throughout your site. You’ve got some backlinks from relevant sites and you’re slowly working your way up the search engine results page. But is there anything else you can do, you wonder. Are there any other techniques you can use to get your site more visible online? Sure there are, and that’s why this article is here to offer you even more SEO help.

One thing that some sites are only starting to catch on to is the use of video marketing. The average visit to YouTube lasts between 13 and 15 minutes. Wouldn’t it be great if you could hold an audience for that long on your website? Well, why can’t you? Create a short and sweet video that will help people learn more about whatever it is your site does and make it entertaining.

Make sure to place your website address somewhere in the video and encourage people to visit for more information. Then, submit your video to not only YouTube, but also its smaller competitors, including Bolt, Furl, Badongo, ad MovieMasher. And, make sure you include keywords in your video file name. More and more videos are getting picked up and indexed according to their file names.

Another tip from my bag of SEO help suggestions is not to ignore your 404 page. Especially if your URL is a complicated one, chances are people will spell it wrong and wind up on a page that doesn’t exist. Make sure your 404 Error page still has title and meta tags that contain your keywords, as it will also likely get indexed by search engines. Add your company logo or some sort of image that reflects those keywords, and include a menu so that people who land on this page will in fact be able to navigate their own way back to your page. That is another small way you might be able to keep some more of your traffic.

My final suggestion is for those of you out there who maintain a blog. If you don’t already have one, get one. They’re free, easy to set up, and are a great way to generate traffic and boost your search engine rankings. If you do already have a blog, make sure you have some primary keywords in the titles of your posts. Then, throughout the body of your posts, use some secondary keywords. But, make sure you don’t overdo it.

You also want to make sure your blog can be easily read by a spider. Keep your navigation bar on every blog page and make sure all your past blog posts are linked on your newest ones. Update your blog as much as you have the time to do. That is not something you can do enough. And, thought you might not see the results right away, don’t abandon your blog. If you stick with the same domain and topic, you should start to see the results soon.

I hope this SEO help will get you on your way – to the top!
