Get These Squidoo Success Secrets For Your Work At Home Business

It is quite easy to learn how you can make use of Squidoo to generate traffic to your work at home business. Squidoo is considered quite a different social networking site compared to others we are more familiar with like Myspace but is being used extensively by online business marketers and loved by Google. But why are so many work at home business entrepreneurs raving about this unique leading web 2.0 property?

One key difference is that Squidoo lets you sell blatantly without worrying about someone shutting you down like MySpace.. Another unique feature of Squidoo lies in the fact that it is a social networking site for adults so if you like flashing graphics that you find in MySpace, you won't find them here for sure. It's a great place for grown up home internet business owners to interact and promote their work at home business.

Squidoo lets you create what's called a lens, which is essentially an information portal about any topic you want to write. Once you sign up you can start to create as many lenses and categories as you want. You can very easily use these lenses to drive targeted traffic to your work at home business sites.

Once you have created your lenses and specifically targeted to your home internet business niche, you then start the socializing with other like minded marketers on this social networking site.

The secret to succeeding in using Squidoo is to provide good and helpful information to people in your niche who are hungry for this information.

How To Generate Traffic Using a Squidoo Lens

1. Putting your main targeted keyword in your lens title is one of the most effective ways.
Remember that your lenses are pages too and they can therefore rank in the search engines like your home internet business web pages.

2.Choose a URL for lens with your primary keyword. This will help your search engine rankings too, because that URL is what you'll link to from other places.

3."Tag" your lens with other long tail keywords. Look for the Squidoo lens creation wizard to do this when you are creating your lens.

4.Most people underestimate the value of the RSS feed but this makes your lens popular with search engines. There's a Squidoo module for RSS feeds, and search engines love that kind of unique and changing content.

5.Alwasys update your lens several times a week at least. There is no necessity to make major changes just quick and easy ones, tweaking a little here and there and click "publish" each time this has been done.

6. When you have a few lenses, do link your related lenses to each other. This is a good technique and known to be a good traffic puller. This also helps you in your link building, which eventually leads to higher ranking for your Squidoo lenses.

7.Start to create more specialized lenses based on long tail keywords in your niche. As you would already have a list of your keywords for your niche, you should start to dominate them. If you have a lens on work at home business, for example, try creating a more specialized lens called "Work At Home Business For Retirees".

8.Treat your lens like it's your blog and therefore link it to your home internet business sites. This is an easy yet powerful technique. Search engines love Squidoo and therefore links from a high-ranking lens to your work at home business site can really help to boost your traffic.

9.Remember that Squidoo is firstly a social networking site so get sociable by visiting other internet marketer's lenses and give your comments on their guest book. This helps you get your valuable one way links, generating more traffic for you too.

10. Not only do you need proper keywords in your lens, but add as many keywords to your lens as you can. You should check out what keywords people are typing in search engines to arrive at your lens and then add these same keywords to your list

11. Here is the final secret you can use. Make your lens useful. One good way to make your lens useful is to organize your lens as a "how-to" lesson within your topic. This makes your lens neat and easy for your reader to find what they are looking for easily.

If you are new to Squidoo, it may take you some time to get used to creating your lenses, but many people find it easy to learn while others get increasingly addicted to create more lenses to promote their home business opportunities. Creating squidoo lenses can be fun and it's free, and can bring lots of targeted traffic to your work at home business sites. So why not start creating your next lens using these techniques and start to enjoy these benefits for yourself.
