Choosing the right keyword for your website

If your website is having a high ranking keyword that no one is searching for, the traffic curve will approach zero. This doesn’t give you any conversion and you can not be proud of your website seeing its search ranking. It is very important to find high search volume keywords and optimize your website for that keyphrase. You can compare the relative popularity of any keyword using tools that are available in the internet. Few of them I recommend isWordTracker,Overtuer’s Search term suggestion tool andGoogle Keyword externalTool. Some times Plural of a keyword may have high volume than the singular form. Test your keywords for its synonyms. All tools offer similar keyword suggestionns. One drawback of Overture’s tool is that they combines singular and plural forms together, along with popular misspellings, and only displays the aggregate number.

Despite the popularity of individual words, it is recommended to target two- or three-word phrases. Choosing a one word keyword will be a losing battle as the staggering number of pages indexed by popular search engines, competeting each other for the first or second page of the search resylt. This should go without saying, but the keywords you select should be relevant to your business. Again make sure that the keyword is relevant to your business.

Re: Teens make $$ on Squidoo Re: Teens make $$ on Squidoo - I agree with Christew that Squidoo is a good place to promote your existing website rather than to aim to make $500 per month. One lens per keyword, pointing to the page on your website that makes use of the same keyword. Of course, you can also link each lens to your sales pages and so forth, but the main purpose should be to funnel targeted traffic to your website.

Evan's Free SEO Report Evan's Free SEO Report - One of the keys to building a successful online forum is having community involvement and members helping each other solve their problems. I think we have achieved this and am excited by all the connections that are being made through our forums. In the spirit of providing more resources to support forum members I have decided to make available some of the tools that I use to build a website that drives quality search engine traffic. If you look at the top left of the page you will notice a new form titled Evan's Free SEO Report. I use this report for my website to help me rank #1 in Google for thousands of keywords. If you type in your name and email (so I can email you the report), your website and the keyword or keyword phrase that you want to rank for, this report will tell you who your competitors are, what they are doing to rank well, and what you need to do in order to pass them and reach #1 positioning. It is a tool that I have seen SEO experts sell for US$1,000 or more and has been extremely valuable for me. Because of the work involved to create the report I can only provide one report per member so think carefully about what keyword you want to rank for - the advice will be invaluable to you. I hope you enjoy and take advantage of this free opportunity and I am looking forward to seeing EvanCarmichael.com forum members achieve #1 Google rankings for your own websites across the board!
Re: Can someone explain Search engine optimization to me? Re: Can someone explain Search engine optimization to me? - If you use a good keyword research tool like Keyword Discovery or WordTracker, you'll find a lot of solid profitable keyword phrases that don't make a lot of sense. You should also be able to uncover some phrases that make better sense and still have a decent profitability. By profitability, I mean the keyword phrases have a decent search volume but a low lever of competition. I always teach that you have to write for real people first and the search engines second. If you try to weave a strange keyword phrase into your article with a fixed keyword density, it will sound strange and that can affect your credibility and trust.
