Title tags are nothing but short coded descriptions of the page that are used by search engines to describe a particular webpage. Thus, they form a very important part in ensuring that your website is listed for a particular search phrase. Following are some of the simple steps that you can take to ensure complete optimization of title tags for search engines:

• First, it is important to identify the keywords that best describe your website and ensure that you use them in your title tags. There could be several keywords but you should use the ones that have the maximum searches if you want your website to feature in the search engine results for your targeted keywords.
• You can use two or more keyword or keyword phrases to describe your website in the title tag but care must be taken not to make it longer than necessary.
• It is essential that you choose title tags that are relatively unique for your website, as such tags have more chances of attracting search engines. Unique title tags also describe your website better than the common ones.
• Where you have several pages for your website, it is important that you describe each page separately with uniquely different title tags as this will increase the chance of attracting search engine spiders.
• You should never leave the title tags section blank. Avoid using the untitled, home, index or default text for your title tags. While using web page creating software, chances are that your title tag is created using default words. Therefore, you should take care to check the site and the title tags and make necessary changes, if required.
• Your title tag should always be relevant to the content posted on your web page. As mentioned above, title tags are descriptions of the website, which is why they should reflect the true essence of your website.
• While using keywords, it is very easy to go overboard and use them more than what’s necessary. Doing so will not only overstuff your website and title tags with unnecessary clutter but could also lead to penalization from the search engines. Therefore, always ensure optimum density of keywords, even in the title tags.
• The next step is to ensure that you put the title tags in a proper order, always keeping in mind that you have to attract the search engines as well as entice the human viewers to look into your site.
• Formatting your title tag is important and care must be taken to use the correct font size as well as case. Though this does not affect your rankings with any search engine, using pleasing fonts and structure will attract more readers.
• Lastly, always monitor your website and title tags for performance and ensure that both are giving optimum results. However, where you find the results are not satisfactory, you should change or update your tags and content.

Re: How do u optimize a Blogger blog? - Hi GT, Of course there is a way and you know it, you wrote it down in your question. 1- Optimize your main blog code : Meta keywords, title, description. 2- Optimize your post - look at it as a web page. You need keywords (tags), use them in your title, first and last paragraph, and variations on the entire blog. Use the Strong tag, add title to links and alt to images. This is it. The key here is to do a good keyword search before writing.
