Our Favorite Joomla Extensions

Looking for some great ways to grow or extend your Joomla website? There are thousands of extensions out there, the majority of which are free! We've rounded up our top extensions that we keep returning to time and time again. Enjoy! RawContent - We love the ease and flexibility of this component, module and plug-in. This allows Joomla admins to add YouTube, Flash videos, PayPal buttons, Subscribe form HTML, Google Map HTML and other forms of coding that may get erased, dropped or misconfigured in Joomla. All free. MiniFrontPage - a great component with many display options for showcasing news articles on the home page. Options of displaying number of articles, intros, length of intro, article title with links only, thumbnails and much more. JxTended Comments – allows for moderation of comments, social booking, spam protection, IP spam blocker and more for your blog or other section in Joomla. RS Form! an easy to edit and manage form that includes a captcha anti-spam, confirmation email to website visitor and the Joomla admin via email and stores the form info in the database too. Gtranslate currently this free plugging has the capability of translating your site in up to 52 languages. Only want users to have the option of choosing 1 or 2 languages? Not a problem either. Select as many or as few of whatever languages you decide. Google Calendar integrating a Calendar into your Joomla site, has never been easier! Not only is it simple to add events to the calendar via Google or your Joomla admin, the Google Calendar can also sync with your mobile phone, Microsoft Outlook Calendar, Apple iCal and Mozilla Sunbird. You can invite people to attend events on your calendar and guests can RSVP to the event via the calendar or email. DocMan - this free component allows the Joomla administrator to manage documents in various categories and allow visitors the capability to upload, download or edit documents. Digital Download Seller for DOCman when integrated in with DOCman, you can download digital files and collect money for them via PayPal. XchangeEmail - excellent component for lead generation! If you have a file you want your client to be able to download from your site, a popup appears asking for their email (or other info your specify), and then emails them the file. You then have an email address for leads. RokWeather - fantastic free little module that will display a weather forecast 1-4 days for a specific city of your choice. Agora a simple forum component that easily integrates into Joomla adding enhanced interaction between visitors and website owners/moderators.

Re: Joomla Now Has A GetResponse Module Re: Joomla Now Has A GetResponse Module - Hi guys, I just wanted to give my 2 cents on this subject as I am a Joomla enthusiast. I have 3 different Joomla sites and they all perform great, although they sometimes load a bit slowly. My main site went up drastically in the search engines after I converted it to Joomla. About the GetResponse module: Unfortunately, it's only compatible with Joomla 1.0, so for anyone like me who has the latest version, I doesn't work. Have a great day, everyone!
Joomla Knowledge Joomla Knowledge - Hi ImpactAthlete How did you teach yourself on customizing Joomla? Was it trial and error or did you use books or a class? I've tried using Joomla but I'd say it would take me days to customise a Joomla website, maybe I should just give it ago! Thanks!

Re: Joomla Now Has A GetResponse Module Re: Joomla Now Has A GetResponse Module - After reading the posts, I've come to two conclusions. Some people like Joomla, others don't. My question is, is there a good alternative to Joomla? I don't mean Wordpress, either. I've been considering starting a new site and would like to have content management as it's less of a hassle. My first thought was to use Joomla. Now I'm not so sure. I could probably make it work, though. A GetResponse module would be good for me, however, since I do use them. Are there any alternatives? Thanks! Alan
