Which to Choose: Blogger or WordPress?

Blogging has become a very popular method for sharing knowledge, discuss viewpoints, personalize your business and increase the opportunity for inbound links and traffic. Given the increasing popularity of blogging today, it has become imperative that you choose the perfect medium for posting your blogs. Blogger and WordPress are two leading blogging platforms that have gained in popularity over the years.

Blogger can be described as a popular free hosted blogging platform while WordPress is a popular self hosted blogging platform. However, recent times have seen a switch to more WordPress blogs than Blogger. In order to understand the reasons for this shift and whether it makes sense to switch or not to WordPress, it is important to understand the innate differences between the two and the advantages of one over the other.

Re: Poll: Blogger or Wordpress Blog? Re: Poll: Blogger or Wordpress Blog? - I’ve tried Blogger before. Then I decided to “migrate” my blog to WordPress. But I’m still maintaining the blog at Blogger because I still can’t figure out how to add Google adsense scripts on my WordPress blog.
If You Want To Make Your Blogger or Wordpress Blog "DoFollow If You Want To Make Your Blogger or Wordpress Blog "DoFollow - If you have a Blogger blog you can delete every rel=”nofollow” code from the template code and it will make your Blog a DoFollow Blogger Blog. If you are a WordPress you can download a PlugIn by Kimmo Suominen, "WP DoFollow PlugIn". I agree that it is good to reward visitors who leave comments.

Re: Alexa Ranking Goals Re: Alexa Ranking Goals - Hi David - what I usually do for my blog is write a series of posts in advance and then just post-date them so that they go live automatically on the right day. It`s a build in feature in WordPress and I believe Blogger has recently added the feature in as well.
Re: Poll: Blogger or Wordpress Blog? Re: Poll: Blogger or Wordpress Blog? - Hi GT, While I prefer Wordpress over Blogger, for many reasons already stated, Blogger does have it's benefits, even if they're few. There's nothing wrong with Blogger; afterall, Google does own it. I think that may be one particular reason why getting approved for Adsense is so easy with them. However, as Tanny pointed out to me some time ago, there's no way to disable the "nofollow" attribute, even after removing the code out of the template. So, this could discourage some from leaving comments on Blogger blogs. One benefit about Wordpress that I mentioned is having the social aspect as commenters can reply to each other, much like a forum. There's really no way to do this with Blogger, either. Regardless of whatever blogging platform you choose, it's all about the content. Using one or the other isn't going to make you anymore successful. Just keep pumping out the content and both search engines and people will notice.
