Keyword density, no more usage in SEO

In the late 1990s, keyword density became an important factor for SEO and the site with more keywords will get higher ranking. Webmasters discovered this search engine secret and started adding more keywords in pages to get higher search benefits. Nowadays, the Search Engines are giving more priority to many other factors to avoid keyword stuffing.

Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. My dear Internet marketing friend, search results are determined by relevancy and NOT BY ADDITIONAL KEYWORDS ON YOUR PAGES. Google relevancy is determined by over 200 factors, one of which is the PageRank for a given page.

You can find many SEO tools for finding and analysing keywords on your pages. Do you think this is required for SEO? Absolutely NO. You just concentrate on page navigation and contents to rank well in search results pages. Create pages with relevant titles and META tags with relevant keywords.

No one knows the Search Engine logic and never accept third party commitment about your SEO. You cannot expect the page to be listed in top of search results on the same day you launched; it takes time to crawl, index and move you on top.

The only way of promoting your website is, INCREASE VISIBILITY OF YOUR PRODUCT/SERVICES. If you have wealthy budget to advertise, you can very well start your SMM (Search Engine Marketing) and SMA (Social Media Advertising); if not, you can start promoting your product/services by submitting to download sites, free press release sites, article publishing sites, RSS sites, free ad sites, video sites and directories.

Good rule of building a page is “quality over quantity”. A single page can generate more traffic than tons of pages. Your page content should contain the clear information about product or services with relevant keywords in relevant places (NOT IN ADDITIONAL PLACES).

Duplicate content will actually drive SEO rankings down. Make each page content different enough will give greater rewards.

Guidelines for using keywords in contents

1. Avoid using analytical tools to find keywords on your pages, verify manually

2. Make clear and quality content about your product or services without adding more keywords

3. Avoid using more links in your content (100-150 words per link recommended)

4. To avoid keyword stuffing SPAM issues use at maximum 2% of keywords in your content

5. Use the below formula to calculate keyword density percentage

(Total Number of Keywords/ Total number of Words) * 100

Good luck for your SEO success !

Server speed issues? Help with Plesk Server speed issues? Help with Plesk - I'm working on getting the speed increased for the forums as some have brought it to my attention that it loads slowly. When looking at the server it appears that the memory usage is consistently in the 80-90% usage range. My server guy tells me not to worry about it and that since the swap is at 0% there isn't a need to upgrade the server. Any ideas from our technically inclined readers as to how to reduce the memory usage and if it's a problem that it's in the 80-90% range consistently? I have a dedicated server and use Plesk to manage it. Thank you in advance!
Poll: How many search results do you analyze of competitors Poll: How many search results do you analyze of competitors - If you are trying to emulate your competition or let's say a competitor who is in the top search results you may examine certain factors in the SERPs such as keyword usage in the Title Tag, on page factors like keyword density, keyword prominence or keyword proximity in the body text, plus other on page factors. I know quite a few students of SEO like to do this as a way to improve their own search visibility. Here is this Poll question. If you were to examine competitors within the top results, how far down the list of SERPS would you care to explore for various factors?
Re: Can someone explain Search engine optimization to me? Re: Can someone explain Search engine optimization to me? - If you use a good keyword research tool like Keyword Discovery or WordTracker, you'll find a lot of solid profitable keyword phrases that don't make a lot of sense. You should also be able to uncover some phrases that make better sense and still have a decent profitability. By profitability, I mean the keyword phrases have a decent search volume but a low lever of competition. I always teach that you have to write for real people first and the search engines second. If you try to weave a strange keyword phrase into your article with a fixed keyword density, it will sound strange and that can affect your credibility and trust.
Re: Keyword Selection Re: Keyword Selection - Hi All, Very interesting topic of discussion! Website success mainly depends upon the target keywords so the keywords should be relevant to website theme. Long tail keywords often rank easily in SERP. You can also use Ad word Keyword tool for keyword selection. Keyword having less competition and high monthly search volume are easy to rank.
Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategies Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategies - I'd disagree with the first point. Keyword research is important, but it should not be the complete focus when doing niche research. A niche is typically made up of thousands of keywords, and researching them all is very difficult, because the keyword tools won't tell you what most of them are. Plus a niche is not a bunch of keywords, it is a demographic interested in a particular topic. You need to learn about the people in this demographic. Keyword research tells you their search habits and gives clues to competitiveness and potential profit, but you are looking at through a very narrow window of a much bigger picture.
