A surge in communication across national boundaries is fruit of unification done by the internet. Gone are the days when international markets were only for big players. In current scenario even small business are looking into prospects of multilingual advertising. The goal is to promote services and products in international market. International Search Engine Optimization (international SEO), is the answer to win the confidence of new visitors.
One of the key points of international SEO is to challenge the sovereignty of English which was the only language used for the Web for long. The following points will answer why is there is need to think beyond English.
• In Asia which has some of the fastest growing economies in the world only 10% of the total searches are done in English. So for any business that aiming the Asian market, using English as the web language becomes irrelevant.
• This startles to think that in Europe only 13% searches are done in English. This is because languages like Italian, French, and German etc are used by 87% of the total European population.
• European countries mostly trade with countries that do not speak English. The exact figure touches the 70% mark.
The demerits of using English as the only language for web marketing are already emerging. If only 15% of the total internet market speaks in English, so it a clear loss to miss out the 75% of the market.

This means, if a website is targeted for business in Europe, it should be built in German, French, and Italian etc in addition to English. This will prevent the revenue loss incurred by missing out the visitors who operate in other language than English.
