One has to plan the steps carefully and must take a test effect in order to get the best results. A promotion of a product/service or anything else affects your market only when it could effect you and so the seller is the first customer itself. For promoting online you can write articles related to the service/product that you are providing but then you need to write about the benefits of the product not your site. You need to first make your target market understand the effectiveness of the product/service. Try to be informative and professional with all your approach, and when you direct the user through a link/hyperlink in your article/blog content make sure that they are being directed to the desired page. Promote your content through social medias, social bookmarking sites and your email. Social media is only single market place i feel where you could get your target at one place. Try to build your leads and client network through social networks, interact with them effectively, don't present yourself as a seller you must promote your business but present yourself as a adviser. Try to attract them by posting offers and discounts and always be prepared to explain them regarding that. Note one thing that it is you both the side and so it is not difficult to impress yourself but then you need to develop strategies. Re: Joint Ventures?? - I have done a lot of JV's in the past. Things like you join my program and I'll join yours, or your promote my product and I'll promote yours, and other things like that. I've also started sites with other people in a JV where they would have a job like building and maintaining the site and I would market or something like that.
Re: How Many Friends Is Too Many? - It is the way you look at it. If you are a memebr of facebook to promote your business, 5000 friends are ok. If you can promote your product to them, I don't see the reason why you cannot have them as your friends.
Want some idea about Clickbank ebooks - I would do a landing page. Trying to promote in forums is hard work and sometimes not aloud. Lot of forums doesn’t want you to promote another product. Most forums use Google adsense.

Tanny, here's what I do to promote TrafficSwarm: I have accounts on about ten other traffic exchanges and I use them to promote my main website, a squeeze page or two AND TrafficSwarm. I also promote the traffic exchanges on each others sites and I now use ALL the banner and text credits for Traffic Exchange or other exchanges. People who surf traffic exchanges are more likely to sign up to another traffic exchange than anything else! Even with a few pro accounts, I think it is still cheaper than PPC and once you have tweaked the system it is probably more productive as far as recruiting for TS is concerned!
