How to earn Google Page Rank

Hundreds of pages are created every second of the day and there are billions of pages already existing on web. We mean to say that Page Ranking is not as easy job as you think. It is a complex process which involves a lot of mathematical calculations and scientific methods. Google is one of the best search engines on which many other search engines depends.

Page Rank is a method through which Google defines the relevance of a page. There are many factors that affect Page Ranks but no one exactly knows how Page Rank is calculated by Google. Many people have their own view about how Page Rank is calculated by Google. Some says there is an equation that is used to determine the Page Rank. The equation is PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + … + PR(tn)/C(tn)) where ‘t1 – tn’ are pages linking to page A, ‘C’ is the number of outbound links and ‘d’ is a damping factor which is usually set to 0.85.

When we are talking about Page Rank then we should keep in mind that all links are not weight the same when it comes to PR eg. If you have a web page which has 1 link then it will get decent PR value. But if you put 50 or 100 links on to the page then each link will get only a fraction of the Pr value. If you are not getting enough incoming links then you need not worry as it has no impact on PR.

If you are frequently changing the content of the page and expect a positive change in the Page Rank then it is not possible as your content is of no value when it comes to calculating Page Rank. We must know that Page Rank can’t determine the rank of the whole website but only of an individual page and high page rank doesn’t mean high search ranking.

If we talk about inbound links then each inbound is very important for Page Rank. Although banned sites don’t need to bother as there inbound links don’t count. Effective internal on site linking has a positive effect on Page Rank. It is also a considerable point that the values of Page Rank don’t fall in between 0-10 because it is a floating number.

It is progressively harder to reach each PageRank level because it being calculated on a logarithmic scale like we calculate the intensity of earthquake on Richter scale and it is exponential in calculation. The mathematics behind Google PageRank is very complex which makes it a fair play.

Now after understanding all the factors related to Google PageRank we can say that there are many ways through which one can improve his web Pages PR. But none of the above mentioned factors guarantee you the number one spot because we have already said that there is no one who knows the exact method which Google uses to determine a PageRank. These factors are just research based and surely helpful to improve the PageRank.

Page Rank Changes Page Rank Changes - Hi Kevin - there is a lot of speculation as to why so many websites lost Page Rank. A few new sites that I've been following also got Page Rank for the first time. Every time Google does a Page Rank update there are websites that get caught in the crossfire and have to work to get their rankings back up!
www.tobuso.com and www.paperrollshop.com www.tobuso.com and www.paperrollshop.com - Please take a look at these and tell me what I should do. I am too close to them to see it objectively at this point. The main on is the tobuso.com one. The other is just a paper roll side bar project. I have had a guy working on tobuso.com for about 2 weeks or so. I really dont understand why it doesnt have any Google Page Rank yet. I am starting to move up in the rankings for my targeted keyword but I am lacking in the google Page Rank and cannot figure out why. I guess it may just take more time. See if that is what it looks like to you.
Re: Specific Strategies To Raise PR Levels? Re: Specific Strategies To Raise PR Levels? - After re-reading through the posts in this thread it seems to me like there might be a little confusion as to what Page Rank (PR) really is. For those who don't know... PR is a number between 1 and 10 that Google assigns to a web page based on it's importance. With 10 being the highest and most important. It's mainly determined by the number and quality of inbound links to the web page but there are other factors as well. It is NOT the ranking your site has in the Google search engine or any other search engine. If you are ranked #3 on google for "home business" that does not mean you have a PR of 3. They are completely separate things. Furthermore, PR does not determine how high a site ranks in the search engines. It's possible and very common for a site with a low PR to outrank and site with a higher PR for the same keyword phrase. If you want to raise your PR then you need more backlinks. Higher PR backlinks will pass more link juice to you and help raise it much easier. On that same note, if you want to increase your search engine rankings for a particular keyword then you also need more backlinks with the keyword you are targeting as the anchor text. When it comes to that, Page Rank and Search Engine Ranking Positions are very similar but that is it. People often think that they need high PR to get good search engine rankings and it is not true. They also tend to think that just because a site has high PR then it is better than a site with lower PR, that is also not always the case. One final thing about this is that the PR you see on your Google Toolbar for a web page only updates a few times per year and is not necessarily the actual PR for that page. The actual PR is stored at Google and is updated constanty, and is not shown to the public. Only they know what it really is. I hope that clears up some common misconceptions about Google Page Rank (PR).
How to get Page Rank How to get Page Rank - Google won't reward you with Page Rank if you're not getting links for your site so it looks like the work you're putting in is paying off - congrats!
Nofollow Backlinks Nofollow Backlinks - Martin - I wouldn't rule out interior links. They may appear as 0 Page Rank because they just came online but over time they will gain PR. That Seth Godin inside post that Takuya sent is a Page Rank 5 now. Russell - Most blogs carry the nofollow link. You should check it out before posting a comment if you're doing it for SEO reasons. You can download a plugin for firefox that tells you which links are nofollow but another way to find out is to go to view --> page source and look next to the external links on the blog comments. If it says "no follow" next to them then Google doesn't count it as a link. Some forums also do "no follow" when you put your website in your signature (mine don't) so you want to check it out before getting too involved.
