Free Adwords Money for Non-Profits to Advertise on Google - By Marcela De Vivo

If you run a non-profit company, you know how much of a challenge it is to get your message out there and really be heard by the people you're hoping to help. Unlike a for-profit company, you don't have the advantage of massive amounts of profit and sales to further your marketing and message. Fortunately, there are a lot of programs out there devoted to helping out non-profits with this exact problem, with the Google Grants program being one of the best options out there.

Google Grants

Google Grants is a program that grants money to non-profit companies, allowing them to advertise on Google's AdWords platform. Typically, this can be a very expensive advertising platform for even the least competitive keywords. It's a combination of volume and CPC (cost per click) that drives up the cost to levels that most non-profits can't afford. However, the Google Grants program allows approved non-profits to spend at least $10,000 per month on the platform, which can be absolutely huge for spreading your message and creating positive change in whatever social area that you are working to improve.

Requirements

In order to qualify for the program, you do have to be a 501(c)3 non-profit as defined by the IRS. Additionally, you have to agree to all of Google's advertising guidelines, which includes a nondiscrimination clause and donation receipt certification. It's important for Google to make sure that they are only giving grants to registered non-profits that are following all of the rules, because Google could get in a lot of trouble if they were found giving out tax-deductible grants to for-profit companies or non-profits that weren't following the law.

You will need a Gmail account for your organization if you want to apply to the program, so be sure to set that up as soon as possible to speed up the application process. Additionally, it'll be a good idea to have all of the details of your organization laid out in front of you for when you apply so you can breeze through the application.

If you’re a Non-Profit, Apply!
Don't stress out about whether you're going to be accepted or not. Remember - Google WANTS to give these grants out! It's an amazing tax deduction for them, especially when you consider that it doesn't cost them nearly anything to give you the AdWords credit. Just a little bit of bandwidth on their system is all it takes to deliver $10,000 worth of marketing messages to your target audience. If you're a struggling non-profit, or even one that is fairly well established, this is the absolute best way for you to get FREE money to promote your mission to millions of people worldwide.
