Staying motivated in August

In the peak vacation period its easy to get discouraged with a downturn in the number of meetings and sales.
Always remember, in sales you can only control 2 things, your level of activity (what and how you do things) and your attitude.
You really have no control over how many people will actually talk to you or agree to meet or sign the contract to work with you.
For the month of August stay focused on what you can control.
Don’t let your productivity slip. Keep your attitude positive. Set no-fail goals. Prospects can smell a discouraged attitude miles away, and always look for places that you can add value to your prospects and clients.

With these key elements in your corner you always have the power to create a successful day!

Re: How to Stay Motivated Re: How to Stay Motivated - Staying motivated is definitely hard. Especially when things get overwhelming and there are no immediate results. This is my personal approach. 1) Use a big white dry-erase board / piece of paper. 2) Pen down everything you need to do or in the process of doing. Point forms with dates. No need for excessive details. 3) Schedule a definitive period of time to relax (i.e. for the next hour and a half) 4) Jump back to working starting with number 1 on the white board! The best way is stay motivated to be organized, re-group then jump back in!
Re: What is your biggest challenge? Today? Re: What is your biggest challenge? Today? - Staying healthy is important as I get very little done when I have the flu. I basically shut down for a week to recover properly and continue to work hard.
Re: The Top 50 Productivity Blogs To Watch in 2010 Re: The Top 50 Productivity Blogs To Watch in 2010 - Thanks for that list Evan. I have bookmarked it to go through more carefully when I have some spare time. What you say here is so true, the biggest problem with working on the internet is that it is so easy to get side tracked. Staying focused is really the hard part. MichelleJ
Re: How To Stay Motivated In Your Business Re: How To Stay Motivated In Your Business - Whether you think you can or think you can't, you are correct. Having the right mindset is critical to being a successful entrepreneur. Kicking the dead horse one more time:::: Write down your goals. And then READ THEM!! I find that most people don't write them down, and of those that do, hardly any read them later. When you are most motivated is usually in the beginning of your project, so write down your goals then. When feeling down, go back and read those goals, this will get you motivated and make you remember why you started your venture. .
Three days later Three days later - Well, it's been only 3 days since that horrible last month of summer vacation ended, and in these 3 days my hits are back up to what they were before Black August came along. So I'm thinking that, indeed, it wasn't my new navigation bar, but simply that people were out rushing around trying to jam in activities before school started again, and now that things are back to normal in their lives... they will return to normal on my site! My site numbers had been holding steady for about 3 months, before Black August...I had hoped that the classy-looking new nav bar would actually help increase my numbers, as I think it adds a professional gloss to the whole website that was lacking before...but so far I'm just still ....steady... with those previous 3 months, not really increasing.
