Every day I am learning something new about human nature.

The practical use of self defeating process, en mass, is one of the main reasons we are in the state we are in as a country. Many of the habits that we as Americans have, is that we are always looking for an easier and faster route to gratification. Even knowing deep down that true satisfaction doesn’t come that way. You have to work for what you get and if someone tells you it is going to be easy, you better see and understand all the details.
On another note there is a great difference between those that have worked for themselves and those that have collected a paycheck from a company. The person collecting a paycheck from someone else is in a very difficult position. There is now a glut of skilled workers and not enough jobs. This means that many of these workers are available to be acquired, far less expensively, then they cost in the past.
In many cases I find that if you are open to sharing your proficiencies with others they will share with you. The partnerships that can be built during these times, using American ingenuity and the greatest brain trust in the world, can alone get the country out of its funk. Entrepreneurs are a special breed and together we can achieve at the highest levels.
It is my opinion that we are in the beginnings of the greatest resorting of the U.S. economy ever. Effective marketing is more valuable and productive than ever. Price is important but total perceived value is more important.
We got into the mess we are in because we forgot the fundamentals, if you want anything you have to work for it. JB Hunt said, “Success is easy, find out the price you need to pay for what you want and then go pay the price.”
One of the main advantages, especially to small businesses, in an economic downturn, is that companies and consumers begin to evaluate everything they spend money on to see if they can achieve greater value. This makes every qualified prospect a new potential buyer. Doors that were previously closed are now open because of the need to be more efficient and effective. Smart business minded people are shuffling everything. Loyalty has to be to yourself and your family first.
Use the advantages of the times play in your favor.
To your prosperity,
Glenn Broder

Re: Are we defined by what we do for a living? Re: Are we defined by what we do for a living? - To answer your question Kevin: In one word YES. people will defined you by your profession. It is the human nature, and we love to judge. Personally I don't defined myself by what i doing. I don't think your profession and how much money you have is defining you, it is the same as judging by sex, religion, or skin color, it means nothing.
Hard and fast rules? Hard and fast rules? - [quote:3dw1ait1]If the rule says I should get 80% of my business from 20% of my customers, shouldn't I work harder on the 20%? [/quote:3dw1ait1] How old is this rule, anyway? I've heard it myself, for at least 20 years I think... has it changed in the last few years now that Internet Marketing is so apparent, or since it's all down to human nature, will that ratio never change?
personal view personal view - My personal view on the social networking scene is I do not believe it to be in our human nature to live globally. If that where the case we would not be working continually to-wards this goal. It would JUST BE to begin with from the beginning. From what I can tell we are creating a new generation of people that are intolerant of the least amount of thinking involved in any application that hits the web. The TWO Button rule seems to apply to almost everything we do today. Have you taken good look around at the education system in this country? Social networking is perhaps the worst thing to end up on the internet. I do not believe the internet was intended to be used as such. All the Best
Re: Does birth order influence the desire to start a business? Re: Does birth order influence the desire to start a business? - I think this study is bogus. I don't think birth order influences any of this. It's the nature vs nurture argument magnified. Some is nature, but most is nurtured through child development and adolescence. Birth order has nothing to do with it.
Re: Second attempts at entrepreneurship Re: Second attempts at entrepreneurship - [quote="ideasuniversity":5k4m8q0w]I don't remeber who said it but he said. " I have never failed. All my past failures are lesson I have learnt on my way to where I am I today.?"[/quote:5k4m8q0w] Very true - making mistakes and/or failing occasionally is human. But, learning from these experiences can make them beneficial and useful steps on the journey toward success. Shri
