It is your choice.

Wow, today was quite a day. The stock market dropped below 7200 to 12 year lows. People are worried. They're not sure which way to go. Businesses are failing everyday. And I would argue that today there are opportunities for business that have not been available before.

What we are seeing is an adjustment that does not come along very often. The markets were bloated. Many companies were bloated and the craziness could no longer continue. We didn't get into these problems because we were following the fundamentals. We got into these problems because we didn't follow the fundamentals, we didn't pay close enough attention to the details, and we thought that we could fly our businesses by the seat of our pants. We learned that this is not possible and the fundamentals have to be revisited.

So how can I say that there is more opportunity today than ever before? The reason is the bad companies are going to fail, the companies that live by the rules are going to succeed, and somebody is going to have to serve us the failing company's client's. So why shouldn't it be you? It should be.

Plan to succeed, prepare to succeed, and moved to action and succeed. Go back to the fundamentals. Take pride in building your company through real business fundamentals and profit in these times of business failure of companies who thought they could skirt the rules. The time is now to move to action.

Take hesitation out of your personality, strike now. Contact every possible buyer in your selling universe and introduce them to your company and your products and services. Make them aware of the fact that you available to serve them in the future. Prepare to succeed and you will. Go out with ferocious courage and stake your claim now.

All the best.

Re: Gap Between Rich and Poor Widens Re: Gap Between Rich and Poor Widens - What i believe about the gap between the rich and poor getting widens is a result of choice we make. Everyone has the right to chooce what he or she wants in life. You cannot choose for anyone. Check anywhere they say is the poorest in any part of the world, you will notice that there is still a rich person there. If there is no working knowledge, poverty and riches are everywhere but what turns them around is how you work on your choice in life. I read virtually majority who are rich in today in our world, were not born into the rich family. But they make choices to be rich using what they have to get what they need. Even in the Bible, it has been ordained that some people will be rich while some will be poor, not that God made that way but by the reason of choice everyone will determine what he or she becomes. What a good post we have here. Cheers!
Re: 40 cents per dollar is spent in a franchised business Re: 40 cents per dollar is spent in a franchised business - Hi Kevin and John: I definitely agree that it's a personal choice, but what makes it hard is that it is in essence a business decision as well. the mixture of the two and the weighing of each aspect makes it a difficult choice for me to understand. John, what kind of things go into the due diligence part? i think there must be more beyond understanding the nature of each franchise...such as the fit of the franchise with respect to location etc. owning a no-frill pizza franchise in a ritzy lifestyle-conscious neighborhood might not be as good as say a healthy juice-bar type of franchise etc. any market research help available out there?
