The Secret Other Insurance Producers Won't Tell You
If you’ve been in the insurance industry less than four years you’re holding onto a dream. The dream that someday you’ll have a full book of business with lots of residual income is what fuels your fire. The dream that someday you won’t have to work so hard to get appointments is what drives you to make one more call.
Your dream can become a reality. However, there are hundreds of thousands of producers who’ve been in the business 10-20 years who continue to struggle each month. Each month they wonder if they’re going to have to get a real job because this business isn’t cutting the mustard.
Now this may shock you. You may think those producers are just a bunch of losers and it won’t be like that for you. Well, let me tell you those producers aren’t losers.
You should admire their courage, persistence, and determination. I certainly do. It’s not their fault they work so hard for so little reward.
However, you have an opportunity to learn from their mistakes and avoid following in their footsteps. Let’s think this through. If you want to obtain more insurance clients you have to close more business. If you want to close more business you have to hold more sales conversations. If you want to hold more sales conversations you have to get the right people to meet with you.
And that’s exactly where the big problems start. You can’t find enough good people who want to sit down with you to talk about insurance. In spite of everything you’re told to do.
If what you’re doing isn’t producing the results you want, and it isn’t producing the results experienced producers want perhaps it isn’t you or the experienced producer’s fault. Rather you’re doing the wrong things with the best of intentions. You’re following a recipe for hard work and low profits.
The key to changing your future to creating your destiny is in your ability to attract highly qualified leads who reach out to you. There’s no reason for you to chase after people who have no interest in talking to you. Change your approach to prospecting and change your results.
