This unbelievable balderdash was downloaded from a well known recruitment web site. Can you believe that companies actually pay recruiters to do this stuff?

Account Executive - R10000+comm. - Ideal Candidates

The ideal candidate must reside in Gauteng.
The key outputs of this job includes planning and managing sales activities, compiling own prospects, New Business Development, Campaign Management, Client Service and relationship development, Client information to Records as well as Report writing and Administration. The ideal candidate should be computer literate (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & Internet), familiar with geographical area, familiar with consumer market in Gauteng and have a thorough understanding of the sales contract. A good knowledge of the advertising industry, the Airport environment and of the marketing process is recommended. Skills with regards to cold calling and telemarketing as well as knowledge / proficiency in key account management is required. Strong prospecting skills and application thereof, established key contacts in the marketing and media industry, the ability to prepare accurate and detailed presentations and marketing proposals, presentation skills (face to face & PowerPoint), well developed business writing skills as well problem solving and strong analytical ability is essential. The candidate must have the ability to pay attention to detail, the ability to build and maintain direct client relationship. Own transport is essential.

The ideal candidate must be a resilient, creative team player. The candidate should display the following attributes: high level of motivation and self starter, good interpersonal skills, high level of energy, commitment and drive, ability to work independently, ability to work under pressure and negotiation skills.

National sales and marketing diploma or equivalent
At least 4-5 years proven successful sales track record gained preferably in the media and advertising industry.
Must have called on decision makers in the marketing department and at advertising agencies.

The chances of finding any salesperson anywhere with all of these skills is virtually zero. What they are looking for is several different jobs rolled into one: -

• New business development
• Key account management
• Telesales (presumably outbound)
• Client service management
• Marketing management
• Product transactional seller (cold caller)

In addition this individual must have a range of high level skills in negotiation, presentation, the laws of contract, analysis, and they are going to pay the poor schmuck ten grand per month plus commission. If there are really people like this out there they will be earning seriously north of seven figures. Why, in heavens name would they respond to a ludicrous ad like this? No wonder recruitment agencies are detested by sales professionals.
