GIAP: Goal Identication And Achievement Process
Step 1
Identify the 5 most important goals that you want to accomplish over the next 90 days and write them down individually.
Step 2
Identify the reason that you want to accomplish each goal and write each reason down.
Step 3
Make a list of all the action steps that must be done in order to accomplish each goal and write them down.
Step 4
Rewrite the list of action steps, prioritizing the action steps for each goal.
Step 5
Make a written plan of action: You may choose to simply do the action steps for each goal in the prioritized order and have that as your plan of action. However, if you actually begin to write out a plan of action I'm sure that you will find other things that you did not think of when you listed your action steps. You don't have to list those new items as action steps, just add them in the written plan of action.
Step 6
View your goals on daily basis: Get at least 5 five by seven note cards and write all five of your goals on each note card in big bold letters with a bright red marker of sharpie. Post these goal cards in places where you see them on a regular basis.
(Example: Bathroom mirror, refrigerator, dashboard of the car, a place at your desk where it can be constantly in view when you are sitting there (I usually put mine on the bottom of my monitor), and your bedroom mirror. By posting your goals in these places you will VIEW THEM ON A REGULAR BASIS. Remember that you get what you focus on, if you constantly view your goals you will be constantly focused on them and whatever you focus on will show up in your results.
Step 7
Speak your goals several times a day: Words have TREMENDOUS power. We have the power to speak things into existence. Speak your goals out loud 5 - 10 times a day. When you speak your goals speak them with power and belief. Get excited about the things that you are going to accomplish over the next 90 days!! Look at yourself in the mirror when you speak those goals out loud at least 3 times a day. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU ONLY SPEAK OUT THE POSITIVE THINGS THAT YOU WANT TO HAPPEN IN YOUR LIFE. NEVER, EVER SPEAK NEGATIVES INTO THE ATMOSPHERE! Even if negatives exist, acknowledge them but do not speak them aloud. Look at the negative and immediately begin to focus on finding a solution.
Step 8
Visualize your goals on a daily basis: (Example: See yourself in your mind's eye accomplishing your goals. Think about how great it will feel to succeed in this area of your life. See yourself out of debt. See yourself stress free. See yourself happy. Visualize these things on a daily basis, see yourself accomplishing your goals and imagine what it will feel like when it happens!
Step 9.
Share your goals with others: Find positive minded people who will support your success and share your goals with them. Stay away from Negative Nabobs.
Step 10
Get an accountability partner. Find someone who is success minded and goal oriented and make yourselves accountable to each other. Commit to email your daily schedule to each other each day along with a progress report of the current day's activities. Also, commit to having breakfast, lunch or dinner with your partner at least once a week and discuss your goals, accomplishments, struggles etc.
Step 11
Review your GIP at on a weekly basis: It is not only important to see your goals on a regular basis, it is also important to remind yourself of the reason that you want to accomplish your goals and the actions that you must take in order accomplish the goals. It
is also important to review your actions each day and see if you are staying on track with your plan.
