Quick Prospecting Tools
Did you know that online tools such as LinkedIn, Google Earth and Google Maps can be used for finding new people to sell to? If you do an advanced search on LinkedIn you can search for people in a particular industry, location, position or a mix of all three (e.g. All Sales Managers in Sydney). It will even tell you if anyone in your network is connected with them, so you can ask for an introduction.
I have only recently discovered the use of GoogleEarth as a prospecting tool, thanks to a very switched on BDM. If, for example, you have a client in Building A and you would like to find out who else you can sell to in that building or that location, a quick search on Google Earth will give you a list of the businesses in the building, the street and the suburb.
