How sales professionals can use the iPad2 as a serious business tool

I am very much into using new technology for selling today. The iPad2 was a real breakthrough mainly because of it’s front and back camera which can now be used with Skype. Before we get into that, let’s recognize that the iPad2 is “hot” new product from Apple. People are fascinated by it and when used in a sales presentation it can really grab a prospect’s attention. Instead of using brochures etc to explain what you have to offer, consider making short videos, which explain what you are offering. Don’t throw your hands up in the air and say too expensive to create and takes too long. Not true!! Shoot your videos with a small digital camera, import it into an editing program like Apple’s iMovie. Use one of their templates, edit out what’s not needed, add some music and commentary and that’s it. A 15 minute job if you know what you are doing and it really is easy. Learn how to do this, or get someone in your company to learn.

Clients are more interested in watch SHORT videos (less than 4 minutes) than reading pages of a brochure. Videos grab attention, but keep them short. If you have 10 features to explain, make 10 short videos, not one long one. Even make these specifically for this client addressing their specific needs, incorporating their logos etc. They will be impressed! With one swipe across the screen, you can take them to the next video. Enlarge what appears on the screen or make smaller with just 2 fingers.

Also what about “Success Stories”? Record short interviews with satisfied customers and have them in your iPad so you can show these when required. We have more than 100 at our website. Do people watch them all. No of course not, but after watching a few and seeing you have 100 more, that adds a lot of credibility.

Also have pdf brochures on your iPad so they are there if you need them. While you are there and before you leave, let them have a copy of what they need in order to make their decision. That way they can also forward these to other decision makers. Using email, Skype or YouSendIt to given them a copy in minutes.

Better still, how about using Skype Group Video Conferencing to bring all decision makers into your presentation, regardless of where in the world they are. Eliminates that objection “I need to speak with head office about this”. You can now have up to 9 people plus yourself on the screen.

How about this? My Sales Coaches can take me into face-to-face meetings with prospects any time anywhere, using Skype and either the propects’s WiFi or a personal “Hot Spot” from their iPhone. They connect to me using Skype on the iPad2, regardless of where in the world I am. The iPad can be set upright on the corner of the prospect’s desk and now we have a face to face meeting with my coach there “live”, and me there full face “live’ too. They don’t even need to offer me coffee!!

I can do 8 meetings a day this way without even leaving my home office. Uses for the iPad2 are endless if you start to think creatively. Contact me and I’ll send you a link to a video where I’ll can tell you more.

outsourcing sales outsourcing sales - Hello My name's Chris from England, I'm new to this forum. I am launching a new start up next month, a bicycle billboard company. I have two questions: What would it take to convince your business to adopt a new advertising medium that you hadn't used before? Would you recommend outsourcing sales for small start ups? (I am considering using an outsourcing company / freelance individuals to book appointments and recruit and manage a Field Sales team as I do not have experience in sales and would prefer to leave it to professionals)

Established micro business with bad credit but great b-plan Established micro business with bad credit but great b-plan - I am a true entrepreneuer. Meaning I have created a business by simply having a great idea and run with it. I have also failed, lost time and money and decided to try it all over again when I had another bright idea. Recently I had to seperate myself from a business partnership and create another company. My new business is 12 months old and going strong. We provide sales & marketing assistance to entrepreneurs and small business owners. The company has three seperate revenue streams. 1) We provide direct outside sales representation to small business owners. Essentially, we function as manufacturing reps but for local small businesses. 2) We do business and marketing plans for start-up and companies seeking to grow. 3) We are a disabled veterans business enterprise. Located in California, this provides us with unlimited opportunities for contracting with city, county and state government. My problem is that I cannot secure funding to support basic operating expenses for the next 12 months. Banks that claim to have special programs for disabled veteran business owners turn me down because of my credit score. Angel investors turn me down because my business plan does not show explosive growth. Prosper.com, circlelending.com and all of the internet based unsecured lending companies have turned me down because of my credit score. I have spoken with lending professionals with various levels of experience and I keep hearing the same advise; "own property and use the equity, get a partner with assets, borrow from family." None of those work for me at this time. Now I realize I damaged my credit by taking far too many risks in the past and raising my score will take time. At the same time, I have 6 clients that are simply waiting for sales representation and I don't have the funds to recruit and hire salespeople. Worst of all, I have to pass on certain contracting opportunities because I cannot accept a job where payment takes 45 to 60 days because I have to pay people every two weeks. I currently have myself, two part-time sales reps and 4 loyal clients that together provides my company with average sales of $5,000 monthly. So I am still extremely small, but I have a solid plan and marketing strategy. I have run out of good ideas.
Review My: e-product sales letter Review My: e-product sales letter - Hello Forum members! We have a lot of sales and direct marketing expertise in here so I thought I would ask for a review of my sales letter for my newly launched e-workbook on how to write a business plan. I'm working on a round of testimonials to include with the sales letter so I know that's a missing component. I wrote the sales letter myself and I tried to lay the benefits out as clearly as possible but I'm not a professional copywriter so I'm open to suggestions! Thank you in advance!
