The Danger Zone - Medical Sales Training

"An idea that is not dangerous is unworthy of being called an idea at all." Oscar Wilde Do you want to be famous in your company? How about your industry? Then stop letting others come up with all the ideas. Here's another news flash. You're just as smart as everybody around you who is either in a higher position or more well-known. The only difference is that those that are getting noticed take time to think and aren't afraid to share the idea. For example, what if I told you I had an idea to make a blanket that had sleeves? Dumb idea? Maybe, but don't tell the inventor of the Snuggie TM that. Or how about developing a ceramic pot shaped like a character, you add seeds and water, then BAM, the thing grows hair? Crazy? Yea, but somebody made millions selling the Ch-Ch-Ch- Chia!

While you might not be in the product development business, you ARE in the idea development business. So this week, take at least 30 minutes in your office and come up with three business ideas that, if you followed through on, would separate you from all others. Start by thinking of something that nobody else is doing, but if they did well, would make them high performers in their position. Then think of the steps necessary to make the idea real. And don't expect others to prove your concept. The world is full of people with ideas but limited in those that believe in it enough to model it themselves. It's time to get dangerous.

Brian Sullivan specializes in making company's sales meetings dangerously fun and educational.
