How to Generate Unlimited Leads
One of the biggest challenges I hear from network marketers is a lack of leads to call. If you have burned through your warm market then this article is for you. There is no such thing as a lead problem. If you don’t have enough leads it is an idea problem. In this article I will share some proven strategies that you can apply to immediately generate leads for your network marketing business. Once you learn the ideas in this article then teach them to your downline.
Most of the people I have met who do not have enough leads have never set a lead inventory goal. To run an effective network marketing campaign you need a minimum of 200 leads in inventory at all times. If you currently don’t have 200 leads that you can contact then set a goal to get 200 leads in the next 30 days. Goals act like magnets. You will begin to attract 200 leads.
Here is one reason why you need a minimum of 200 leads. If you have fewer leads, let’s say you have 37 leads to contact, then there is a good possibility that you will procrastinate on making your calls. Here is the reason. The 37 leads represent hope. If you contact all 37 leads and no one is interested then you have lost your hope. Because of this possibility you might put off making the calls. If you have 200 leads it will help put you in an abundant mindset regarding making your calls. If you go through 37 leads you still have 163 left. More importantly though you still have hope.
Now that you have a lead inventory goal the next step is to create a space to attract the leads. The system I recommend is very simple. It requires a recipe box, index cards, and tabs 1-31. You can get these supplies at a local office supply store like Staples. Here is how the system works. Put one lead on each index card. Store the cards in the recipe box. Each day contact 5-10 people. The tabs are used for follow up. For example if someone asks you to follow up with them on the 20th of the month you would put that index card behind the number 20. What is great about this system is it is easy and duplicatable. Anyone can do it. Once you get the recipe box you will be amazed at how quickly you will fill it up. I have had many clients fill their recipe box with over 200 leads within one week. I challenge you to fill up your recipe box with 200 leads within 30 days.
Once you have your recipe box here are some great tips to generate unlimited leads.
1. Ask people for their business card. Think about it. When someone prints 1,000 business cards their goal is not to keep 1,000 business cards on their shelf. There goal is to give them away. When you meet someone help them achieve their goal of handing out their business cards by asking them for a business card. If they don’t have a business card then ask them for their name and phone number. Once you get home put the business cards you collect into your recipe box. Do this by writing down the information on an index card or staple the business card to the index card.
2. Contact people you contacted six or more months ago about your business. Most people, after then contact someone once, never contact them again.
3. Identify people who have your customer. This is one of the most powerful lead generation strategies that exist. Here is a business example to illustrate how this idea works. Starbucks created a relationship with Barnes and Noble because Barnes and Noble has their customer. Starbucks now has coffee shops in hundreds of Barnes and Noble book stores throughout the world. Who do you know who has customers who would be good prospects for you to call for your network marketing business?
4. Ask for referrals. Most people know others who would be good prospects for you to contact about your network marketing business. If you simply ask others for help by referring you prospects they feel would be good for your business they will help you.
5. Get leads from new recruits. Most people know at least 100 other people. When you recruit someone new they need help contacting these 100 people because they don’t know what to say. Once your are trained then you will know how to introduce your network marketing opportunity to your new recruit’s warm market. This is a perfect synergistic relationship.
6. Approach the people who solicit you on a daily basis. Each day people are contacting you to offer you their services. They do this over the phone, through the mail, and through email. Each of these people contacting you is a great lead. Everyone that contacts you transfer their information over to an index card in your recipe box.
7. Offer a special report. Most people enjoy special reports on topics that are of interest to them. The idea is to offer the prospect value by educating them first. Once you have educated them you can introduce your network marketing business. The special report can be offered on a web site, in a print ad, or during a speech.
