What Are You Asking For?
A friend stopped into my office today and suggested I read the book
“Women Don’t Ask” by Linda Babcock. While I haven’t read the book yet,
the conversation got me thinking about success (of course!).
How often do we not ask for what we want? You might not ask:
A client to pay an invoice on time
A prospect to meet when it is convenient for you
A mentor to help you be more successful
Your child to do better in school
Your spouse to remember to say “I love you”
A co-worker to give feedback on a project
A client to tell you what he likes about your company
There are so many things we could ask for in life and yet whether it
is fear of rejection or simply forgetting, we often don’t voice what we
want.
Make a list of 10 things you really want in the next week, including
things you want your family to be or do during the holidays. Start
small but make the list.
Next to what you want make a list of who you could ask for help to get those things.
This simple task will show that you aren’t alone in your quest to be
happy and successful. There are lots of people who can and will help
you on your journey. Just ask them!
