What I Bought WIth $81,000,000

The other day I was driving 30 minutes to go to a client’s networking event and I saw a sign that pumped me up for the entire day.

It was the lottery sign showing the jackpot at $81million.

I started thinking about what I’d do with that much money.

Here’s some of what I came up with…

What a blast! I bought houses for Mom, Dad, Will, and various friends.

I bought a beach house in the Hamptons for all my friends to hang out at whenever they wanted to vacation.

I bought a VW Beetle for a friend who loves them.

I put $20mill in the bank for a rainy day.

I funded a non-profit to save homeless dogs.

I set two friends up in their own businesses.

I took a two month vacation.

I renovated my house.

I bought a house in San Diego (mostly for Will).

I bought a new BMW with every bell and whistle they make.

I bought clothes and jewelry and shoes and furniture and food.

In short, I had a wonderful time feeling completely financially free to do whatever I wanted to.

That feeling filled me up, made me soar, got my creativity stirring and created an aura of success around me. When I went to the networking event, I was feeling so confident and wealthy, I barely talked about my business. Instead, I asked about everyone else because I felt so rich that I didn’t need business.

And guess what? I got business.

When you feel like you need to make money, that sense of desperation creeps into your unconscious gestures and expressions and folks shy away from you. But when you feel secure and confident, you can focus on others and attract them to you.

Test it yourself.

Before your next appointment, don’t think about what is, that is, your current financial situation, but rather what could be. It will subtly change your interaction with the prospect and you’ll be much more likely to end up with a client.

And don’t forget to tell me about it! I love hearing your great stories!

Re: Have You ever helped a complete stranger? Re: Have You ever helped a complete stranger? - Yeah I have helped complete strangers on many occasions. Given lots of money to homeless people. Given rides to people I don't know. Helped people carry things when I could see they were struggling with it. Bought several people I don't know meals at restaurants when it was obvious they needed some help. And many other things. I wouldn't consider myself to be a saint but I have no problem helping strangers when the situation arises. I've also been helped before by strangers many times but I can't think of any specific examples right now.
