Love it and live it!

I believe everyone should (and deserves to) follow a career they are passionate about. I understand there are demands and responsibilities in life, of course there are, but they shouldn't be an excuse for underperformance or an unfulfilling existence.

Life is a precious gift that we often take for granted. Our time is way too short to waste. The average life span of an Australian male is 77 years, and females are a tad longer. The clock is ticking, so if you're not having fun yet, what are you waiting for!?

To be the best at what you do, you need to stick at it long enough to develop the specialist skills required to master it. Many experts suggest 10,000 hours of practice is the "magic" number to achieve mastery in any field. In my measurements that's about ten years! That's a big slice of our finite time, so enjoying what we practice and preach is essential.

If you're working in an uninspired state, the rest of your life including your family, is impacted. So what's the real cost? In my latest book, The Naked Salesman I explore how to create a fulfilling and meaningful business, which then flows into all areas of life. And speaking from experience, it's not easy, but its the only way to live.

If you've ever seen me sell, you will know what I say is redundant to how I say it. My words are heard, not just from my fervent lips, but my entire body.

I love what I do and when I get the opportunity to talk with people about it, including prospects, the loves just oozes out of me! That's the conviction and passion you must demonstrate when you sell. If not, ask yourself why not?

Perhaps you're in the wrong job or working for the wrong company. Is your manager uninspiring? Frustrated by a lack of support? Or maybe you're focusing on the wrong things, instead of having a crack and following a career that is truly inspiring to you?

In any case, what you do says more about who you are than what you say. By following a career that inspires you - you by default inspire others too! And that my loving friends, is what real leaders are born to do.

Re: How did we Live before Electricity Re: How did we Live before Electricity - Interesting topic everyone. The first thing that comes to mind and may answer some of your questions is this: look at how the Amish live. Now, you may not be familiar with the Amish where you live, but here in PA, I'm surrounded by them. Lancaster, PA is the heart of Amish, really. But, just over the ridge and mountain from where I live, the Amish are everywhere as well. They live without electricity everyday. It's forbidden for them to have it in their homes. They live a much more uncleanly life compared to the rest of us, but they get by and do very well for themselves. There are a lot of traits they have that many do not. Their work habit is the best I've ever seen. You can actually learn a lot from them, including how to get by without electricity... LOL. I like the idea of solar electricity. I think that's a technology we're going to be seeing more and more of.
