The Dollar Sign

Symbolism. Icons. Archetypes. Emblems. Signs. Symbols. There is a deep philosophical and ideological message communicated through these visual depictions and signals. The dollar sign represents a different message to different people, depending on their conditioning and outlook on life. In our increasingly Collectivist society, I think it is important for every entrepreneur to clarify his internal representation and translation of the Dollar Sign. The way we perceive the Dollar Sign has a significant effect on our business dealings, choices, and success.

The Aristotelian philosophy is seldom taught in our academic institutions. In this age of liberalism, business is getting an increasingly bad rap and we have to guard against creeping socialism. I see too many entrepreneurs making excuses for their success, as though altruism is the higher way. The political looters and leeches encourage the unions even as they condemn them. What does the Dollar Sign really mean to you? Are you sliding down the slimy pathway of guilt that is so carefully greased by the mystics and Collectivists? Beware – your business will suffer violently.

To me, the Dollar Sign represents the word that I hold as my standard in life: RESPONSIBILITY. My highest value is Freedom and I am personally responsible for that freedom: its acknowledgement and attainment. And for maintaining the freedom, I create. The Dollar Sign reminds me to be grateful that I live in a free society. It urges me to strive to create more value for more people so that I am rewarded according to the principles of Capitalism. The Dollar Sign represents the objective evaluation of my accomplishments and production. It is the standard by which I judge my business contribution. The Dollar Sign is the happy reminder of free enterprise and the opportunity to be whatever you want to be. What we are determines what we do. What we do determines the value we create. And it is measured in Dollars.

When entrepreneurs start apologizing and pandering to those who would steal from them, they need to regroup and surround themselves with likeminded people who understand that we are responsible for ourselves. We do not owe others a living. We are not responsible for others. We can chose to help others if we wish, but they have no claim on the wealth we have worked hard to produce. We should be proud of our handiwork and accomplishments. The Dollar Sign is the business owner’s symbol of freedom, responsibility, productivity, value and reward. We understand that we earn money in direct proportion to the value we create in a Capitalist society. Money is regarded as “dirty” by those who are dirty. It is respected by those who understand it and contribute, build and create. Next time you see the Dollar Sign, ask yourself what it means to you.

Re: How does an entrepreneur stay energized? Re: How does an entrepreneur stay energized? - Hi there, This subject is not only for entrepreneurs. Everybody can benefit from this, that is the reason why 'Healthy Living and Eating' is a multi billion Dollar business. Often I smile, because so much is written about it. So many different business are blooming and doing well. Whilst there is so much knowledge and opportunity to be healthy and well, the need is still growing. There is so much that could be said. The cheapest form of energy is gained by a good sleep.
Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy - I wanted to share more on the topic of Blogging and creating your own original content that you enjoy writing about. Here's a real example. My wife started her own little Web site a few years ago. It's a very simple, home made Web site she built all on her own. She had sort of a hobby of going into Dollar stores, purchasing a few inexpensive items for a buck or two. Then she would create something completely new (usually home decor) out of what she bought (often with the same value of creating something that was worth up to $15 or $20) if you bought it in other stores, but only using material she bought at a dollar store. So on this little Web site, she starts writing about her creations and take pictures of them etc. A few years ago, someone from an AOL Money and Finance Blog (called Wallet Pop) invited her to Blog for AOL. Today, she write for both the US AOL Blog and the Canadian AOL Blog as well as she continues with her hobby and keeping up her own Web site. The other Bloggers at AOL have nick-named her, "The Dollar Store Diva" and she often writes about budget decorating. What amazes me is that with no SEO and just her original content, she attracts huge volumes of traffic. She has done radio shows in Toronto (and nearly went to the US to do breakfast television) and most people would be so amazed to see the traffic spike she gets from Blogging. But once again, she is just writing about the stuff she loves to write about. She is having fun with creativity and she now has a huge following of readers and subscribers.Others are decorating their homes with her ideas and their doing it with next to no budget. If someone is creating a Web site or a Blog, the best thing you can do is try something original on your own, but make it something that you love to write about.
Please help me before I give up!!! Please help me before I give up!!! - Hey everyone, I am not really new to the idea of Affiliate Marketing but I have yet to make 1 Dollar. My latest venture involved registering a domain name and redirecting the domain name to my affiliate link. advertising of course, is my biggest problem. I have advertised all over the web. Some free, some paid for. I am seriously thinking of rolling the dice and spending a heap of money on a radio commercial or full page ad in a newspaper or magazine. Anyone think that’s a good Idea?? Or got any new ideas for a clickbank wannabe like myself?? ...Thanks!
$1,000,000 $1,000,000 - Hi Evan, Are you talking about US Dollars? If so, that would be approx £500,000 in the UK. The Canadian Dollars differs also from the Australian Dollar. In any case, one needs to solve problems to help people to get money. The more solutions are given to people's needs to solve their problems, the closer one gets. Finally, are we talking about 'Income' or can we talk about 'Asset'? Kindest Regards Beat "Unlock People's Potentials!"
Re: I want to make money online Re: I want to make money online - First, I'd say definitely online. Your $3,000 will go a lot further online than offline. Second, I'd read Kevin's list and the linked article and make a BUSINESS decision what you want to do, what you can offer and who you can sell it to. Do some serious keyword search and find a hungry niche, and this is your start (free). Second step (free): Sign up for clickbank, paydotcom or some other affiliate exchange and find suitable products to promote. Third step (free): Get a free site somewhere, but make sure it's on something that looks like its own domain - yourname.wordpress.com or yourname.blogspot.com or some such. Write some nice things that promote your affiliate products and put your affiliate links on the page. Fourth step (free): Go on article directories like evancarmiahcel.com (if appropriate) or ezinearticles.com and write stuff that is interesting for your niche, using your niche keywords. Put a link to your new site in the resource box/bio. Keep doing this until you make money. My kids (18 and 12 at the time) sold stuff on clickbank. Anyone can do this. Good luck!
