Who are the most mentally tough and resilient in the face of work and life stress? - By Debbie Robinson

Beliefs are something that we don't question. They are generalisations that are not supported by any empirical evidence. Beliefs are the rules that we judge our experiences by and we act as if they are true.

In a sales environment we might 'believe' that cold calling is not productive because we have previously had a bad experience and therefore have

decide to generalise saying " Cold calling doesn't work" even though we have no real evidence to support this belief apart from own bad experience.

You will probably have good and bad beliefs. We need to weed out the negative and limiting beliefs and replace them with positive , enabling beliefs.

—What are you saying to yourself on a regular basis that is sabotaging your success? —Who said it was so? What do you feel about this person? What would you say to them if you could? —What could you do to replace this negative belief? Just because you have a belief does not make it so. If you can adopt a different belief you can achieve great things. Sales guys tell me, "I can't do presentations, I get tongue ties and flustered. I look a fool. No one wants to listen to me."

Is this true? Is this an excuse? What could you do to change this belief and become a better sales professional?

Challenge your limiting beliefs.
