The most powerful motivation is to come up with your own solution

Recently I've been askedby a few people to explain what coaching is and what the benefits are. There certainlyseems to be lot of misperception about coaching so let's clear up what it is not, first!

A good coach will not give you advice or tell you what to do. Coaching is all about you, so a coach will listen closely to what you are saying and in some cases, what you are not saying, they will ask questions to help you get a better understanding of where you are and what you want to achieve and importantly, not direct your actions. So what the heck is the use of coaching if you don't get advice or told what actions to take? You can get advice free from friends and colleagues, why would you use a coach?

The funny thing is that having someone to talk to who listens to what you have to say without judgement or bias is really empowering. Let's be honest, even the bestintentioned offriends do tend to give you their spin on what you should do and their experience of a subject or issue.

The most powerful motivation is to come up with your own solution.

Your coach will ask you challenging and insightful questions to help you decide on your options. The job of the coach is toassist you in finding these and support you in taking action.

I truly believe that there is no other form ofsupport that provides such clarity, focus and energyas coaching.

I can only tell you about the power of coaching and the effect it has had on me and on my clients In order to fully appreciate it, like a lot of things in life, you needto experience it first hand.

So, if you are struggling with knowing what you really want in life or the how to build your confidence to go get it, coachingcould bethebestinvestment you will ever make. Finally, if you are stuggling to make a decision about something in your life, let me ask you to mull over this little conundrum :

Makes you think doesn't it?

Re: Is it worth buying a Dell computer with financing? Re: Is it worth buying a Dell computer with financing? - Depends on how powerful a computer you are getting. Most people can buy a powerful computer these days for just $500! (Of course, you no longer get software bundled in... that's what costs the money these days...)
Truth is Evan Truth is Evan - I think this arena is a powerful pot pourri of ideas and issues. It's not, for me at least, a single track focus. There are sales issues, HR issues, motivation and self-development issues as well as the regular busuness issues. there are creative people and detail people all mixing into a great discussion opportunity. The only thing is that I enjoy contributing and hearing responses, but the competioton thing is a strange lure! I'd like to believe that I would have posted as often because the pool is so rich, but I've started questioning whther the 'competition' is having some deep psychological impact. Part of me has said I should stop contributing because I don't want to be seen chasing a 'prize'. the other part of me says. 'hey, this is a fun topic!' Great introvertion topic in itself!
OpenAds vs. Adify? OpenAds vs. Adify? - Today I learned about an open source solution called OpenAds where you don't have to give up the 20% that Adify takes. Has anyone hear about OpenAds or used it? Does it compare to Adify? Is there a better solution out there compared to both of these?
Re: Why Did You Become An Entrepreneur? Re: Why Did You Become An Entrepreneur? - Hi members, This is a great post by Evan and I am late getting on board but I thought I would ad my few cents worth, LOL. I must say that wanting to be an Entrepreneur or work for myself has never ever meant that I wanted to have my own company, that has never been my motivation. My motivation has always been to work from home and be in control of my life, nothing else. Just to be able to organise my life around working from home would be a dream come true for me and is something I am striving for. I have always been a fairly organised sort of person so the old trap of giving myself too much time off would probably work just the opposite for me. I would be so frightened of failure I would probably work too much. There is an old saying which goes something like ’If you love what you do then you never do a days work in your life’. It is something like that anyway and for many of us, working from home would seem like that, it certainly would for me, regards, Mal.
