Essential tips for outstanding territory management

Here we go:
Get your account listing
Establish what proposals have been submitted and confirm opportunities within account.
Split them into users and non-users
Break them down into sectors, example: retail, finance, government, etc
You should now have a concise listing in less than a couple of days of being on territory
Understand the key drivers within the different sectors and how your products meet their drivers.
Send out intro letters, highlighting how you can help your customers meet their drivers.
Visit all your hot accounts, proposals in, etc.
Use marketing tools to engage all the others and visit as soon as possible.
The rest is up to you and do not forget to learn the strengths of your product.
Be relentless with your activity, get in your customers faces, show them you mean business.
At all times be professional, enthusiastic and be as credible as you possible can, that's the key.
Have fun as always regards, PJ

Re: What Franchisors Want From Franchisees Re: What Franchisors Want From Franchisees - In my experience one of the things franchisors look for is the professionalism of a candidate. I have run across quite a few times where I had a candidate looking a certain franchise and the other person that was looking at the same territory made their decision first and my client was left without a territory. That being said, my client did make their decision, it was just a day too late, but we didn't know that at the time, so the franchisor went to the drawing board and without overloading the market figured out a way to create 2 territories by moving the 1 territory over and establishing another one. Both franchisees were happy and the franchisor got a 2fer. Talking with the franchisor afterward they told me one of the main reasons they did that was because of the responsiveness of my candidate. They say this was very professional and it wasn't just the $$ that made them create the additional territory, although I am sure that played a part, but they really worked with all of the existing franchise owners and the new one and my candidate to get this done.
Franchise Territories Franchise Territories - [quote="franchisebrief.com":1dfdbmhp]This information will be included in the UFOC. If the UFOC states that there is no protected territory, then I would be suspicious. If UFOC states that each franchisee will have its own territory, then there should not be any problem.[/quote:1dfdbmhp] Any franchises that I'm familiar with have a territory or distance provision that prevents franchisees from overlapping their territories. This is only a problem when you have an underproducing franchisee - but they should also have a provision to give a franchisee a set amount of time to make a go of the location and territrory. Shri

Re: Unsecured Lines of Credit Re: Unsecured Lines of Credit - Hello, creditguru: Thanks for the recommendation. Here are two questions for you that will further help our forum members to make use of your suggestion: 1. How [u:p6n6npsx]does[/u:p6n6npsx] a business establish a strong business credit profile? (Especially small business and home business.) Please provide some tips or guidelines on how to do this effectively. 2. Commercial credit lines can be helpful to a business, but they do require responsible management on the part of the business owner. What tips, recommendations or cautions can you offer to business owners who are considering commercial lines of credit? Thanks. GT :-]
Hunter or Farmer - Born, Bred or Both? Hunter or Farmer - Born, Bred or Both? - Hello everyone, As a sales recruiter, I meet a variety of sales personalities day in and day out. Recently, I met with one candidate who I would characterize as a "Farmer" i.e. wants to work with exisiting accounts, no cold calling, no prospecting but great customer service, follow up and upselling skills. He was having a hard time finding his next role and he asked about a Business Development role we had - a Hunter role i.e. cold calling, aggressive, no (or minimal) account base, territory management, target oriented. He asked if he could apply and said, "I can CHANGE! I cna learn how to hunt. I can do it." My question to you is: Can someone switch roles? Can a farmer be a hunter? Can a hunter be happy just farming? Thoughts?
