Goal Setting for Outstanding success

First rule of goal setting, is to break them down into different areas i.e. Financial, health, family and career etc. These are some of the typical areas. Then visualize what you want to achieve and why. Get clear on what you want to happen, it could be, that you want to hit 200% of your sales plan or be the number one salesperson in your company. If you want, draw a picture on a plain sheet of paper of you in the future and how you would like to imagine yourself, it could be that have a top range car that you've dreamed about, standing outside a brand new home, it could be you sitting on a beach totally chilled out with your close friends toasting your great achievements, just visualize the great successes you want for yourself in the future and capture your dreams on the paper and keep it.
Once you have completed the picture think about what you need to do to fulfill your dreams. Look at each area of your life and break them down into sections, let's take finance, we said you want to achieve 200% of plan, that's you're first goal, then write down what it will mean to you when you succeed. It could mean that you can pay of your debts, removing all the stress and strain from you and your family giving you a much happier life, it may be that you can treat yourself to a fantastic holiday providing you with an opportunity to find a great partner and finally it may mean you could be offered that senior / management post within your company you worked for. These are only examples only you can truly decide on what and why.
Once you have a clear purpose on why you want to succeed, these thoughts will give you the passion, energy and the drive to meet your goals.
You then need to create an action plan, don't forget to break them into little sections. For instance commit to reading a least one sales skills book per month to update your skills, contact 30 new contacts / customers per week, create a data base to follow up and capture your existing a new contacts, become a champion for your team on a key topic to add value, help colleagues whenever possible, work harder than anybody else, be creative in all that you do, monitor your successes and failure, set new standards for yourself, create a winners mentality, daily imagine yourself as the number one salesperson and what it feels like, everyday revisit your goals and reflect where you are against them and make changes if needed. This is just a taster, but whatever you do set your goals and stick to them, best of luck,
Regards, PJ smile and have fun selling, don't be a party pooper

Re: Drop out Billionaire Re: Drop out Billionaire - I reveived Bill Bartmann's DVD "9 Steps To Achieve Any Goal" as part of my monthly pack from Success University a few months back. It is a great presentation. I've watched it several times but not for a while so I'll view it again in the coming week. He is one of the greats. Like the best success mentors, he speaks with authority because he has come through much tribulation. His program sounds like a great bargain at $100 a year.
